Ok i've listed on here previous for help with my bitch and her so called pregnancy and had loads of advice ?  so please help.  I have had her scanned latest being at 35 days, still can't see anything?  The vet is keeping her on the same ab's as before incase his words " we have a little one in there playing hide and seek".  With how she is acting i would say she is pregnant but it maybe she goes on to a phantom ( i have never had a bitch do this before so not sure).  She is putting weight on even though she is ill and not eating properly but I wouldn't say she is looking pregnant last time she was huge but she did have 11.  How many people have been told no pups from a scan and they go onto have some? When will she show full signs of pregnancy and will she even if its a phantom?  I've only bred once before and I think this time is so different. If she is only having 1 i've read on here it won't be enough to start labour ?  I also don't want to pup her on pup food as norm incase she isnt, but will it harm her or pups if she is and i don't ......oh i'm so confused i don't know what to do for the best if only she could talk :( I'm so worried if she is and she goes into labour and we're not ready i'll panic ? I'm at home with her so she won't be on her own but i have no one to help me if it happens.

Sorry i know it is 1 question after another :(

I know of lots of here that have had negative scans and then had pups.

If you are totally unsure there is a blood test that can be done, the hormone is only there if pregnant.  I can't remember when you can have it done from, maybe 5wks.  Someone will know that info on here.

My number one rule if a bitch has been mated.  Treat as if they are pregnant.  I even start Panacur at day 40, even if I am not positive they are pregnant.  One of my girls that missed last year was treated as a pregnant bitch, and came to no harm from being wormed, or from being changed to puppy food at her later stages.

So don't put yourself in the situation that you're not ready.

Hi Orangedog my heart goes out to you now. My girl has a phantom last year and because she showed all the signs of being pregnant we did not get her scanned (will never make that mistke again).  She had swollen glands, increased appetite, aggresive to other dogs and put on weight.  A day before her due date she start nesting and running about with a teddy it was terrible to watch.  She was also very depressed.  We were so dissapointed so hence the reason we are going to the vets on saturday although I think it may be a phantom again (dont wont to get my hopes up).  It is such a hard time. Sorry I cant give you more advice

I'm going through the same thing.  My girl was scanned day 34 told nothing there.  She's going for her mum big time, grumblng at the others at food time, has the biggest broad rump I've ever seen, ribcage has totally sprung and enlarged nipples.

I never have mine scanned but a Carmen only has had two in her two litters I wanted to see if she aborts pups or not so was interested in numbers.  She so looks pregnant but due to the person who scanned her I very much doubt that she is.

I feel for you perrodeagua its horrible, I think its just going to be the wait and see game for both of us :(  I just hope it doesnt affect our girls too much if it is a phantom
