With regards to my previous post, my girl has walked beautifully again today with the halti on , but I am concerned as it appears to ride up near her eyes. What other brands can people suggest?

I use Gentle Leader.
I also used a gentle leader and it doesn't ride up. I also think dogmatics are guaranteed not to ride up.
I swear by dogmatic, its superb

Another vote for the Gencon. I've tried practically every headcollar on the market and these are by far the best for staying in position. I'd say the next best were the Dogmatics.
I really didn't like the gencon head collar as I found it pulled tight around my dogs head if they pulled and didn't loosen when the pressure was released

These
http://www.dajan.co.uk/Halters.html are so reasonably priced that if they don't work it's no great loss,b but I find them excellent for my Norwegian Elkhounds, and they don't ride up at all. Even with them trying to get them off at times.

Bracey what breed do you have? There appears to be a lean towards certain brands for different dogs.
For me its the leather Dogmatic, I think its £20 roughly.

Hi. She's a Golden Retriever.

Dogmatics are great and fit a Golden really well.

dogmatic here. Canny collar is not a bad second but I have agsd so a longer pointy nose I would say

I use and love the canny collar.
I'm lucky my dogs walk well on the lead, but my youngest loves people, and even at two and a half would jump up when excited if allowed to. (For some reason unknown to me, most people don't appreciate a kiss and cuddle from a large 40kg dog.) :-)
I mainly use it in high excitement areas such as town, shops and rugby matches and he is much calmer and finds it easier to keep all 4 feet on the ground.
It doesn't ride up at all and i really like that it attaches behind the head and not under the chin. I'd worry about neck injuries when he's having a mad moment with some of the others.

Are these people still trading? I ordered from their website a few weeks ago, paid by Paypal but then heard nothing, have e mailed several times but no reply.
These headcollars are brilliant-fleece lined, comfortable and don't go anywhere near the eyes.
http://www.southwestagilitygoods.co.uk/head.html .I had a dogmatic before which I thought was great but I think these fleece lined ones are even better.

Well they have been on the show circuit since I have been in dogs, well known Bull Terrier exhibitors. Hope it isn't a case of ill health.

I have had the same ordered a few items about 4 weeks ago paid via paypal and have heard nothing.

Just telephoned using the Tel no. on the site, and it would seem there are some technical issues. He said that anyone who has had a problem could they ring him.
Thanks-I'll give him a ring.

Dogmatic everytim for me!
Before I retired I was a trainer/ behaviourist and kept a kit bag of different training aids to suit any breed type and any behaviour.
Of all the headcollars, the Dogmatic was the one that was the most effective and preferred by owners in my experience.

There are many designs and some, suit some dogs more than others, all have their pros and cons depending on breed (eg amount of hair etc) and context:
There is the pullstoppa, canny collar, gentle leader, gentle controller, bridle, george graysons range, dog matic, halti, etc etc.
One man's meat etc...........
