Can you freeze cheese? Tesco had Cathedral mature cheese buy one get two free....and as I can't use it right away can I freeze it?

Do it all the time, but find some can be a bit crumbly once defrosted.  Have frozen that oen before, and it freezes well.

Ditto what Barbara has said. Also, perhaps cut it up into smaller pieces and rewrap before freezing :)

If your not confident freezing the block you could grate it and then freeze - think frozen pizzas covered with cheese :-)

Check the sell-by date too - most cheeses have a really long date.

I do freeze cheese but usually find the long sell by dates surfice plus you can ignore those to an extent in cheddar . When defrosted  it not only tends to be crumbly and is also very salty I find and not as nice. Better for cooking
