Dear All,

I am a bit worried about my girl's "flower".... we are waiting for her to come into season, there has been slight swelling, and puffiness around her flower. and last night I noticed her vulva was slightly red? a little blotchy.
I have not seen this before and wondered if anyone else has seen it before their girl's came into season.
We have noticed behavioural changes of late, ie peeing more  .. but she only does this at the park which makes me think its scenting...
I don't think she has been licking/cleaning down there... not that I have witnessed anyway.

How old is she?  Is this her first season?  Peeing lots and behaviour changes are signs of an impending season although bitches are all different.  You need to keep her away from entire males if there's a chance she is in season.

I would check her occasionally with a tissue as first season are not always obvious as a adult although not textbook..
as long as you know to keep her away from males, walk on a lead in dog free area ...what are you worrying about ?
You could be waiting for a long time.
Personally I get a certain smell from my girls that indicates to me they are coming in.

This would be her third season and we are waiting to try have a litter from her.
She has been xrayed with good results.
Just wondered if the slight red/pinking of the vulva is normal in a run up to a season.

oh I see.. depends if she is a regular regarding timings ..I would just check her with a tissue if you are expecting her in soon.
