Topic Dog Boards / General / it's me or the dog ?
- By ny [gb] Date 28.10.10 19:50 UTC
Did anyone see it's the dog or me on sky 3 at 8:30 ?..

i was stunned, this woman had 6 dogs which she could not control , she fed them on lollies and ice- cream, and gave them tea to drink...
she never walked them.. and they were caged for 4hrs when she went out otherwise they would wreck the house...!

and then had the audacity to cry and stomp off when victoria stilwell tried to regulate a regime...

me personally i think she needs to have her dogs taken away... and she needs to be put down...*crazy people*

Was that all the poms? I remember that - daft woman. I spoil my dogs rotten, but not like that - they eat proper food, go training, gets proper walks, and behave themselves when I leave them alone!!!

If it was the poms I saw it a while ago the women was mad needs some sort of help imo as do her poor dogs

Is this a re-run of her UK programmes? I've been watching some of them and I kind of cringe.... although one thing does shine throuigh and that is dogs need to be treated as dogs not furry people.

But make a point of watching the USA ones, the lady is well up now on the best training methods .... far better to watch her than that dreaded bloke whose name we dare not mention.

I think it was the dreaded bloke, but one of the worst I've seen was the woman who died her dog pink to match her clothes and decor.

Very true, the US episodes are excellent, she has really changed her ways and learnt a lot. It takes a great trainer to admit they were wrong and start doing things differently -CM would never do that!

Did you hear the latest that he is apparently now working with Saint Ian Dunbar....?

What, is it April the first already?! Wow. BTW -I'm not a great trainer but I think it's about time to admit I was wrong about you Sue. ;)

I thought he just did an interview/meet up with him, there was an article about it on Dog Star Daily a while back.

Yes,there are some interesting comments as always with any debate involving CM,in particular the mother who has encouraged her young daughter to use his methods and who says that some people are too soft to alpha roll their dogs but does admit it can be overapplied and she gets on at her daughter when she does it too often as its not so effective! She goes on to say that CM has inspired her daughter to become a dog trainer.
Now isn't the thought of a child alpha rolling their dog because of what they have seen on tv desperately sad??

No sad but frightening - very scary. That child may one day meet a dog which will not tolerate such rough handling. This is despite more recent research which I believe shows dogs don't alpha-roll each other.... one chooses to submit and is not forced.

People all over the world are copying the dreaded bloke despite the Disclaimer - which incidentally, I found out from a US friend - appears at least 6 times on the show when it is screened in the USA (which has many many ad breaks, it comes on after every ad break) - but in the UK is shown only twice.
