My last one is called Annabel - very pretty and feminine little girlie name :)

I still say Kimba short and sharp, (come Kimba) the name has a talking point to it as well. ;)

I'm adding a vote for Kimba and Silver, I think with her registered name being Shooting Star and her being creamy, Silver would suit her beautiful if she's going to have the full length coat!

ok.. here's my thoughts, I like to be a bit obscure, so here goes..
Lhasa is in the southern hemisphere, so thought I'd look some constellations up of the southern hemisphere, seeing as new doggy has a star themed KC name.  One of the stars in the constellation of the southern cross is called Mimosa, which I quite like, perhaps it could be shortened to Mimi?

OR as her KC name is Shooting Star, what about Ulrika ka ka ka!  (Joking of course for this one!), or Dove (as in the dove from above).
The 2nd highest mountain peak in Lhasa is called Jomo Sisi (Sisi?  Pronounced cee cee, rather than Sissy).
The Lhasa people hold an autumn bathing festival, when the constellation of the 6 brothers rises above the mountain called Bumpari.  The water is said to become ''Karchu'' or star water, a life-giving elixir and so the bathing festivities then begin.

I LOVE obscure names, and lengthy stories on how they came about - can you tell? lol

Eh? No it isn't - it's in Tibet, well north of the equator. Other places on the same latitude are Kuwait and Cairo!

Love the name bootes.. Just had a wee peek at the northern stars and this is one constellation.

Mimso like that one shortend to mimi thats what we call mia and for a little dog it works brilliantly. Ok changed my vote to mimosa known as mimi

Still here ... had a busy day with 3 year olds birthday party , then bathing all the furbabies !!! However , I have now read with interest all the suggestions , and think I like Mimi ( similar to Bibi that I like , and I have a Lulu ... ok similar as in little repetative letters but similar none the less !!! ).... and it does have a kind of relevant meaning

To be fair , she came with the name Victoria ... but that is my name and I feared I may be leaving myself open to far too many jokes , definately would have made me an easy target for my OH , lol ;-)

Kids are great , but tired ... pups great too :-)

One of my friend's dogs came to her as a 7 month old puppy with MY name! She told the breeder she would have to change it. In the end her name was easy, she was called Mimi because that's what she was shouting all day! Me, me, me, me!! :-D

Ahh, do like the name Mimi, a friend has a dog with this name and I loved calling it out :-)

Lol ... my fourth son was registered at 2 days old as Louis James ... by the time he was 12 weeks I decided it didnt suit him , so phoned the registery office , and one form later he was Joseph James :-)

How the h*ll did you wangle that? My husband registered our son's birth and omitted one of his names. It could only be altered after his baptism (within 12 months), and meant getting (and paying for) a whole new set of certificates.

It was the same when my father died. My brother made a mistake with one piece of information, but that's tough. Once registered, it stays. No corrections are permissible.

Ah there is a set time limit in England, when you can alter a baby's details on the birth certificate.... It may be six months or so? Not sure.... but anyway it is recorded as an amendment on the blank area on the birth cert. I used to work for that department of the civil service many moons ago, used to know all the ins & outs but time and age are diminishing my memory!

I was told I could change it up to 12 months after initial registration ... it is in section 17 on his long birth certificate , but his short one just shows his new name :-)

No, this is in England, where once registered, it's set in stone. No alterations. My son's birth was (accidentally) incorrectly registered in 1986, and my father's death (incorrectly) incorrectly registered in 1987. Both unalterable, even the same day following panicking phone calls.

Changing the first name of my child
If you decide to change your child's first name(s) within 12 months of the date of the registration of the birth you are able to do so on the original birth registration

I had it somewhere in the back of my mind that a change is possible. Just  found the above on Portsmouth City Council site. Hope this may clarify. May be something that has been changed since the eighties.
