On a much lighter note than my last post , I am hoping you can help me find a beautiful name for my girl . She is now 11 weeks old but still has no name ! Everything I come up with just doesn't seem right . She is a pale cream colour with no black tipping , very unusual in the breed , and lives with my other girls who are Connie , Lulu and 2 Kizzy's ( don't ask , it's very confusing !!! ) I want something girly , pretty and a bit different so any ideas would be great
Thankyou ,
Vicky

- By WestCoast Date 23.10.10 08:22 UTC
Claudia was going to be my next one! :)
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 23.10.10 08:28 UTC
Are you allowed to say what the breed is as you're not advertising? Peaches is a nice name.
- By itsadogslife [gb] Date 23.10.10 08:29 UTC
Hi
The girl we're keeping here from our current litter is going to be "Flo". We also have "Izzie" and "Lexi". My husband wanted to call the new pup "Doris" but I managed to find another name everyone liked before it stuck...
- By WestCoast Date 23.10.10 08:30 UTC
LOVE Doris! :) :) :)
- By itsadogslife [gb] Date 23.10.10 08:37 UTC
Lol, I like Doris too, but not in the context that my husband uses it!! Also, couldn't really see myself standing in the park calling my dog. Funnily enough, the family are already calling our new pup "Flemp", hilarious, as she responds to it quicker than her own name!!
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 08:47 UTC
Lady, Jewels, Gem.
- By vikc32 [gb] Date 23.10.10 09:04 UTC
Ooh , there's a few there I like !!! If I don't get shouted at , she is a Lhasa .... will add pic as avatar ( If not allowed I'm sorry and consider wrists slapped ! )
- By Nova Date 23.10.10 09:15 UTC
How about Sunshine, she has no doubt helped you through the clouds.

Second thought, Silverlining, Silver for short.

Not sure if you are looking for a calling name or a name for registration.
- By vikc32 [gb] Date 23.10.10 09:20 UTC
I'm looking for a calling name ... her kc name is Shooting Star ( affix on front but again dont know if I'm allowed to say ) Have tried to think of something to tie in with that but can't come up with anything ( not keen on just Star )
On the Sunshine theme , I quite like Summer ....
- By vikc32 [gb] Date 23.10.10 09:24 UTC
Others I quite like are Bibi , or Bebe , and Jessica :-)
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 10:25 UTC
Seren (welsh star)
- By Dill [gb] Date 23.10.10 10:41 UTC

- By CVL Date 23.10.10 11:05 UTC
My next girly's going to be called Bettie  as long as it suits her (she's not even been conceived yet!), but I'll let you borrow it if you like :-D :-D :-D
- By vikc32 [gb] Date 23.10.10 11:18 UTC
I love Bettie but I have a very good friend who has a Betty .... why is it so hard ?!?! ;-)
- By sugar [gb] Date 23.10.10 11:39 UTC
Florrie?... Dilly?
- By Nova Date 23.10.10 13:01 UTC
Well, I suppose because of her pale coat Blanch would be in order.
- By MsTemeraire Date 23.10.10 13:06 UTC
She's so pale and creamy, puts me in mind of Souffle or Sherry Trifle!
- By ridgielover Date 23.10.10 13:34 UTC
It just has to be ... Stella (Latin and Italian word for star)
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 13:52 UTC
Just noticed the Lhasa is known in it's home country, Tibet as 'bark lion sentinel dog' so what about - Kimba - the white lion.
- By suejaw Date 23.10.10 13:56 UTC
Thinking about shooting stars, they are meteoroids.. How about Nasa? or Wish? or Lucky? or Night 'Sky'
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 14:03 UTC
Seen this Sirius, also known as the Dog Star, is the brightest star in the sky.

Annie (as in Annie Oakley),
- By Polly [gb] Date 23.10.10 15:06 UTC
Years ago there was a bitch in a kennel where I worked the same colour as this one. she was called Chia, and was the dam of one of the top winning dogs in her breed. That name popped into my thoughts as soon as I saw her picture.
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 15:07 UTC
Suppose Calamity Jane is out of the question.
- By dollface Date 23.10.10 15:30 UTC

Celeste? Estelle?
- By Boxacrazy [gb] Date 23.10.10 16:08 UTC
Astra = Greek for Star :)

I have an Astra but she's called that as she was born in my car on the way home from the vet...
and I have an Astra :)
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 16:45 UTC
Talking about cars I have been seriously considering buying the new car from Nissan partly because it looks lovely, but mainly because it's called Juke.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.10.10 21:28 UTC
Ooh Stella?
- By ridgielover Date 23.10.10 21:33 UTC
I've already put in a vote for Stella :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.10.10 21:40 UTC
Sorry missed it.

Rather like that, as it has all sorts of meanings,  she could hopefully have a 'stellar' show career.  It's less obvious than simply 'Star'
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 21:42 UTC
Or may be vikc32 likes the drink.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.10.10 21:45 UTC
Yep, right colour too, so if the hubby takes her for a walk he can sound manly when eh calls her name as he can claim she is named after his favourite pint ;)

That's it Vic32 Stella it is, LOL
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 21:51 UTC
Where does he take the dog for a walk in the pub lol
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.10.10 21:52 UTC
Never watched Tonto's owner (John Smith's adverts in 1970's or '80's) going for his pint ;)

Still a few allow dogs in.
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 21:53 UTC
Wasn't it a JRT?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.10.10 21:55 UTC
Yes it was, the latest advert has a dog nipping out os an Agility ring and getting the paper, bit cryptic for me.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 23.10.10 21:56 UTC

>Still a few allow dogs in.

Almost all pubs in the Lake District are civilised enough to allow dogs in. Let's hope the rest of the country realises the error of its ways and follows suit.
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 21:56 UTC
Just u tubed it was, tis funny
- By Dukedog Date 23.10.10 21:59 UTC
That's the only reason I don't do pubs, cos they don't do dogs and I have never left the Dukester before, in fact next weekend will be the first ever night away from him.
- By ridgielover Date 23.10.10 21:59 UTC
That's alright, Barbara - great minds think alike :) :)
- By furriefriends Date 24.10.10 08:03 UTC
I vote for stella I always think you have to practice calling a name as well ( yes you sound like an idiot practicing) and I can see that one being called
Some of the pubs round me still allow dogs in
