I've always purchased the vet bed with the anti slip back to it, but its not that anti slip tbh.

Whats the main difference if any with the backing on vetbed. I've always purchased it off ebay from a company which are often also at shows and i'm happy with the quality and service. If anyone can also recommend somewhere which maybe cheaper i'd be interested..

Found that there is Vet Bed and there are the copies, as far as I know the true Vetbed has the name on the backing where the copies do not or have a different name, the backing on these copies is variable but a lot are good and cheap, I have always bought at shows a large rectangle being about £15.

Ah ok, thanks.

Whats the main difference then between the non slip rubber backing and the felt backing. Does it make any/much difference?

I am not sure about the backings, I go for the softer ones because you can get a bigger bed in the washing machine the stiff backs make it more difficult. As all bedding in this household is scooped up and thrown in the air I do not worry about them being non slip as more often than not they are upside down.

The non-slip backing is definitely more non-slip than the standard backing. I use the standard backing as it mainly used on top of carpet, with the exception of one wooden floor. On the wooden floor the standard bedding slips all over the place, whereas my friend uses non-slip on her wooden floors, and although it still slips around a bit, there is some traction. Hope that makes sense.

Vetbed genuine stuff doesn't always have it printed on the back.  Most of mine don't and I buy my gold direct from the Vetbed Manufaturer.

You can buy direct from Pet Life quite easy ( they manufacture it) or second best I think is profleece.

Sorry for the misinformation, because that I have bought always has had the name on it I jumped to conclusions.

I think it should be on the back of all of it as it would make the fake stuff just a little more recognisable :-)   Seems it is only on certain parts of the roll.

Genuinely worth trying to buy from them direct. Discount is really big.

I have used non slip for a long time now esp in the whelping box eliminating the need for newspaper under vetbed and so no smell of pee. Also ideal for toilet training pups in crate as no movement or for dogs who have had ops.

I get mine from s and c supplies who go to all the shows http://www.dogproductsdirect.com Very happy with quality and find it stays non slip for at least 12 months. John will also send it at short notice if needed and has even managed to do me an order for vet bed whilst he has been away at a show so brilliant service.

I have just purchased a 5m roll of green backed vet bed for £60.  Know that sounds a lot but when you work out the cost of individual pieces it really is a bargain especially when you have a number of dogs and are wanting different sizes for beds, cages etc.  Found this to be good quality - have a litter of puppies on it at the moment.  They also do smaller and larger rolls as well as the ribbed non slip stuff.  Got mine from ebay hopefully this is the link if not just ask and will supply further details.
EBay shop - FFLAMWEN VET BED eBay item:VET BED 5m GREY BEDDING (VETBED STOCKED) (#330369437316) The grey colour just noticed is only £50 for 5m  Lots of other colours too

I've just bought 2 bags of 1M x 1.5M pieces off ebay for £37.50 each.  1 piece was rather thin but the rest was really good. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VET-BEDDING-CLEARANCE-BAGS-5-ONE-METRE-PIECES-X-1-52M-/370440535120?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&hash=item563ff9fc50#ht_1191wt_1135
