I think they are fakes, they recommend you order your own shoe size but real uggs you need to order a size smaller.

shame though, I could buy some at that price !!

I had already posted this on page one of this thread and sadly it seemed to be missed. People tend to think there is no harm in purchasing fakes and 'getting a bargain' the only loser is the fatcat manufacturer... But as I have said before Behind the couterfeit goods trade are criminal gangs (and as cited regularly by Interpol) Terrorist organisations. I would beseech anyone considering these 'bargains' to think of the victims of these gangs, this money goes to fund Drug trafficking and nastier still people trafficking and enforced prostitution and if that alone does not put you off ('It doesn't affect me and mine' mentality) then consider the implications of funding terrorism.... I for one was glad to come home after the London bombings, although I didn't get home till the evening of the next day as I was on the unenviable mortuary duty and family liaison. (ripped my heart clean out)

I've not been tempted to buy fakes and luckily not been duped yet either but I have to say I didn't realise that these 'must have' designer brands were so commonly faked or that the sites were so prolific.

My 13 year old is becoming more brand aware but luckily she decided all on own that the Ugg ish boots in Primark at £7.89 were much more her thing.  As she said - there's no point spending a fortune until her feet stop growing and she is earning her own money.  I was a very proud mum!!

I have read this thread with interest and have since clicked on the site for mandmdirect and have purchased some lovely cosy Skechers boots for £29.99.  They look a bit like Uggs and am really happy with them.  Also bought another pair of black suede slouchy types from High Street, so am v. happy.  The mandmdirect website has been put on my favourites!!

They look real enough..........I may well chance them for a great Christmas present for daughter!

I'm sorry to say that that is NOT a legitimate website.  If you read back through the last dozen or so posts on this thread you'll see this site has already been discussed and is most definitely selling fakes...at best, your wife has just paid nearly £70 for boots that she could pick up in the market for a fiver.  Or she may receive nothing at all :-(  I'd advise her to contact her card issuer as a matter of urgency and see if there is any way to cancel the transaction.

Not happy, just looked at the website myself, clearly fakes, clearly cowboys - sounds far too good to be true and they can't even use correct english etc.

Can't cancel the transaction, already gone through. Now have to go through official channels to get the money back.

Fuming that my wife was taken in, but my own fault as I wasn't listening as she was going on about it.

Some dodgy b*stard now has my credit card details home address etc.

I would cancel card just to be on the safe side.  It won't be long to wait for new one. 

The CC company have assured me there is no need to, as I have reported it, any future transactions can be sorted out, subject to investigation.

I was replying to HG in the end.. I think this particular thread can continue? Its been highlighted that the Chinese person is not to be trusted for anyone to purchase UGG's or any branded goods from them. This thread has been about where to go to get certain branded boots and who to AVOID!!

Has anyone had a look at the Celtic Sheepskin site or catalogue?  Gorgeous things, including boots - comparable quality to UGGS, slightly different sizes and gorgeous colours, plus the Aqualamb ones which look amazing.  I am also in love with the coats, thank heaven they don't do them in sizes for larger ladies or my credit card would be taking a severe beating :)

I've been going through that again and tbh the prices of the boots on there which are similar to UGG's are no cheaper than I paid last year for a pair of real UGG's from America. I was lucky a friend went to NYC and got me a pair.

The Hartings ones from NZ seem a better price and are the same as UGG's just with a different name..

BUT I think the MukLuk's have one me over now :-)

Trouble is how 'hardy' are they? If I wore them round my dogs I'd have to put carrier bags over them to protect them I think.

They are great until they get wet or have a paw print on them.. Have a look at mine, not even a year old and look like i've had them for years. they are very very comfy though..
My friend who got them also picked up 2 for her. She won't wear them at any hint of rain, won't wear them around any dog, so basically they don't get worn that much...But they still look like new.

The Hartings website mentions that they can be put in the washing machine, so gonna try that shortly and see

I think the "Aqualamb" ones are meant to be weatherproof, and some have tougher looking soles, but pretty much like UGGS, they are only really suited for dry, clean conditions, although very comfy.

I didn't mean that Celitc sheepskin were a cheaper alternative - they are the company who had UGGs in the UK years back, before they were a fashion item, and before all the licensing thing between Aus and USA, and who had the right to call them UGGs came about  Celitc Sheepsking jsut kept up the top quality products and called them by there own name.  Bu they do have slightly different styles, and some gorgeous colours.

The easiest way is to get them from a high street retailer.  Apparently buying online can be fraught with problems, lots os websites which appear to be genuine are not.  There is quite a lot of info in the ebay info/discussion forums about how to tell the difference between real and fake.

Local paper has a bit reporting siezure of counterfeit goods at Stanstead...including 455 pairs of 'ugg' boots sent from china.

Re the Celtic Sheepskin boots and their hardiness. I've had a pair for well over 10 years and wear them in all conditions. I've mucked out goats in them, walked dogs in them (in rain and snow) and to be honest they still look as good as new. They were scotchguarded as new but haven't been done since. They'd get my vote everytime.

Are these the ones which are UGG lookalikes so to speak? I sprayed my actual ones with the same stuff and they look hideous now.. Just waiting for mine to dry out after their mini trip around the washing machine last night..

This was from the days when your choice was short, calf length or knee high, not the all singing all dancing lace up, ribbon, button varieties etc. that are available now. Size-wise mine are a 4 (my regular shoe size is 4 1/2 to 5).

For those interested in UGGS, but wanting a boot that can withstand a bit more mud and puddle than the basic UGG and also at a cheaper price then I've spotted these:
UGGS Ultimate range

The link takes you to an online store called M&M Direct, which is a credible online retailer (I've used them a couple of times). The joy of this range of UGG boots is that the sole is much more substantial than the basic UGG :-) and the joy of M&M Direct is that they are £80 pounds cheaper! than the RRP.
So for the price of the basic boot you're getting a lot more and not risking that awful slouchy collapsed back end you see with basic UGGS.

I have a pair of uggs that I bought from someone who says they are genuine uggs. She sold them me for £40 and they are very hard wearing. Ive worn them almost everyday for a year...give or take hot days! They say uggs on the back but just wanted to see if there was a way I could tell.
