Me Zajak been 8 months since my girls last season, the waiting is frustrating I can tell you:/ Worried that the stud will be busy at shows if this waiting continues!!!

I reckon I know when mine will come in, having entered Boston & Manchester....

i dont know whats happening here with my girls? i have litter sisters and theyve always had 4monthly seasons well we had a litter 5months ago with 1 of them and she had a season not long after her pups had gone ,the girl im waiting for had her season while her sister had her babies. now the girl that had pups is swelling so she will now be having another season soon so thats 2 since she had pups have been born? and her sister is 1month late ,im wondering if shes waiting because she normaly comes in after her x
good luck Emz77 i hope i havnt got to long to wait now! :) x

Ditto
Mine has come into season this morning - 9 days after her sister - was hoping she would bring her in.

Still nothing here even though there has been a lot of bonking between the girls and a couple of young males at SWKA yesterday thought her sister (not due in until Dec/Jan) was interesting.
Dont worry everyone , my girl was 1yr ! now on day 12 !

Blimey, hope my girlie isn't that late. This is the longest she has gone between seasons so far but not by more than a couple of days! I ought to think myself lucky!
Yes i know it was a long time ! We had given up and thought she probably had a silent 1 or missed ! So when i wiped my girl and saw blood i nearly fainted ! ! ! Hehehe.

Mine was also almost a year to the day, she's usually in every 7 months!
One of mine finally came in the other week, over a month late. one missed altogether (who usually starts them off) and my next one should follow. Although there is no sign of this happening. She usually starts when this one is finishing. Keeping fingers crossed as this is the girl I'm waiting on. Will take ages for that lol.

My youngster is in the middle of her first season - she's 16 months - her mum was the same and had her first season very late ( 18 months ) - she then waited a year to have her second ( when she was mated and had a litter ) and has had her third season a year after having the pups - I'm hoping that she does'nt come in again too soon as I'm waiting for the Kc to give permission to do an intervariety mating and it's seems to be a SLOW process !

Im joining the 'waiting list'... :/
1 of my girls keeps humping the girl im waiting for to come into season ,theres still no blood from her ,do you think this could be a sign shes coming in or sould i get her to vets to see if shes having a dry season? my boy wants to get to the girls but hes still young and will try it with them anyway ,so hes not a good indication. x

My girl is 18 months old and still hasn't had a season. Her mother had her 1st season at 17 months so I'm not holding my breath.

I know of someone whose girl starts to hump other dogs when she is due in season, and its usually been within a week of the humping action!
I hope its a good sign for you :)

Thankfully I am now officially off the waiting list! My girl started today! Fingers crossed your girlies all follow suit soon!

Still waiting though she was acting rather weird today, not wanting to get up from her bed this am, and not really wanting to go for her walk.

Still waiting here. Although she has started getting fruity with the teddy bear (was mine, now hijacked) and this is usually a sign with her. So you never know White lilly might be soon. My girls also developed an appitite which she doesn't normally.

BTW I understand the taking over your life bit! Now my girl has started I know a bit of where I am timings wise!

16 days after the start of the topic and still waiting, bitch getting a bit paranoid about me approaching her with white tissue, LOL
Can they ever miss a season?
By Nova
Date 24.10.10 18:17 UTC

Don't think they miss they just extend the period in-between. When you have a very special stud lined up instead of going the usual 6 months and 3 days they opt of a 9 month gap, they are female you know and are entitled to take their time.
Waiting for a bitch that you want to mate to come in is a bit like kettle watching, when you are wanting to show the bitch they will come in 2 days before the show no problem at all.

exactly, and when you don't enter shows because they are due in season they don't come in and you want to kick yourself for not entering as they will be in ideal coat and condition, then they come in just as you have two shows entered on the trot after.
that would be nice Zajak to have pups same time :-)
did you look at your girls bits? (sorry lol) and if so was it pink/red looking at the slit bit (sorry very red faced here) x

Hi just read this post thought I'd share my experiences. My bitch was mated and unfortunately missed last year then I had to wait a year bar a couple of days for her to come into season again! Whenshe did it was only through very close monitoring of her that I noticed it. She did not bleed or have any colour but her vulva swelled up and to me she seemed to act as if she was in season. Took her to the vets who did a progesterone test which showed she may be about to come in season and suggested that we came back a week or so later to check. In the meantime she continued to act as if in season but still showing no colour. Then she started flagging her tail and acting as if she was ready to be mated - all this was five days after my first visit to the vet. Took her back for a further blood test and the vet also did a swab to check for signs of cornification of which there was none. The following day a call from the lab - she had ovulated and should have been mated for the best results the day before but if I mated her straight away we may just catch her. Luckily the stud dog I had chosen lived fairly local so was able to take her for mating that day and the following day. The result 4 healthy puppies born last week. Bitches do not read the text book its was only by knowing my girl really well and noticing the slight changes in her that we were lucky and caught her. Keep checking and if in doubt have her blood tested
thanks for that yontan i think i will be ringing the vets tomorrow :) xx you see my boy has stopped eating too and is trying to hump our spayed girl has he carnt get to our other 2 just in case! 1 had pups 6months ago and other is the 1 im waiting for xx
> and still waiting, bitch getting a bit paranoid about me approaching her with white tissue, LOL
Same here, she looks at me as if to say what you doing. At midland counties on Saturday so maybe my girl will come in to scupper the show lol and forget she's teasing me.
My goldie had a silent one I think, she took her tail out of the way. My girl started doing this but as the old girl didn't go daft, I don't think she's there. If I followed what she was doing last time, it would have saved me the blood tests. she was very accurate.lol.

Yes Whitelilly. I checked my girl several times a day and she was swollen and a little pinker a day or two before the first spot of blood. I could see my girlie saying "oh no not again". You can't help but get obssessed can you?

Ellie starts looking very miffed at the sight of me with a white tissue, haha! Will have to start getting puppy used to that too I suppose..... Hope she comes in soon Whitelilly!
I'm not a breeder, but I love this topic, you are all making me laugh, cos you sound like grandmums excitedly waiting for their daughter to give birth to their 1st grandchild, so funny.
