Any views on which is a "better" food?

I've used both with my dog and there's not a lot between them. He had Autarky puppy as a youngster but abruptly went off it - no reflection on the brand as I understand that's a common teenage dog thing.

CSJ seemed more palatable, and of course CSJ does a range of gluten-free foods - the range is much bigger than Autarky.

He is back on Autarky now as CSJ is much harder to source where I am living now, but Autarky is sold loose at the local pet shop. Lots of maize in Autarky, you'll be able to notice the yellow bits in the 'end product'.... some dogs do not tolerate maize too well.

Currently looking into this new brand:
http://www.honeyschoice.com/
awaiting free samples due next week. Price-wise it compares very well, with the benefit of the oven-baked range as well as the hypo-allergenic, and where I live I would get free delivery.

I cannot comment on Autarky, but have had great results with the CSJ. My dogs love it and are thriving on it with good coats, poos and energy. Lastly the Champs is very easy on the pocket, however this is not the reason I use this food as the health of my dogs is of greatest importance, but if they are happy then I am very happy too.

Thanks, we are looking to cut back cost wise but we don't want to feed anything that isn't any good. We found a food that we did well on but it has been hard to get hold of.

Totally understand where you are coming from there!!
Many friends found it surprising I could feed my 26kg dog so well on around £2.50 per week - that was with the CSJ, and the benefits of that are they have a range to suit any dog. He did tend to have a slightly scurfy coat though so I supplemented with EPO.

CSJ deliver 2 bags for the delivery price of one. My daughter and I share a delivery and order 12 sacks of food together for a delivery charge of just over £2 per sack, http://www.csjk9.com/productcart/pc/viewcategories.asp?idCategory=6&pageStyle=P

Thank you that sounds great. We are awaiting some samples from Ceri so hopefully there will be something there that is suitable, we are looking for;
chicken, he doesn't have a huge amount of energy and is the perfect weight so its just something to agree with his coat. We were feeding Symply and they are good but we used the lamb and his poos went yellow!!!!

Unfortunately the delivery charge on just one bag prices it out of range for me.
I was lucky that I had a local pet shop which sold it loose (Lamb & Rice only), but not where I am now.

Recently purchased first bag of CSJ - CP21 - their top of the range product yet still very competitively priced.
VERY impressed so far.
Fussy eater and she loves it.
'Waste products' impressively solid and minimal!!!!

Two bags of Autarky adult from them direct were on offer post free at just over £30.  I found it very good for one of my now deceased girls who tended to get indigestion and sick up yellow bile.

The herbs seemed to help, as they had when I was using herbal supplement tablets, saved having to give the supplements

I had a look at this, it looks good but is currently more than I am paying out. I will await my CSJ samples and try that or Autarky, I did look at Skinners Duck and rice but noiced that in a previous thread many people mentioned that their dogs were quite "loose" on it.

We have actually had no issues regarding food since we have been down to the one dog, he seems to have a less sensitive stomach, he just can't tolerate lamb, beef or pork as this seems to make him loose.

My adults do fine on (mostly) Autarky, costs 12.75 from Costco. A couple of friends said their dogs put on weight with it but I haven't found this to be the case. I would like my male to put on more weight so may try another food and was looking at CSJ.

My boy gained weight with AG prestige, csj didn't really do anything

We have bought a bag of Autarky to try until we decide on the CSJ food to buy so I will see how it goes, thank you for all of the responses.

There are a number of different formulas of CSJ, if you talk to Ceri, she can help you decide which one/s might suit ;)

I changed to CSJ recently & have noticed a marked improvement in my girls coat. Where it was once dull & lifeless, it now gleams. Both my adult girls are on CSJ Champ & our new arrival (yes we have a puppy!!!! :) ) is on CSJ Little Champ. I had my 1st two sacks delivered, but have now found a stockist only 8 miles away. There's also less coming out the other end, & my fussy 4 year old is no longer a picky eater. All's well :)
