Topic Dog Boards / General / Moving to Chatham in Kent...walking places needed :)
- By whipkit [gb] Date 14.10.10 13:51 UTC
We are moving down to Chatham in Kent at the end of November & having been totaly spoilt for choice in Hampshire I am now at a loss for places to go when we get to Chatham.

If anyone can suggest places to go, am happy to drive up to an hour away (Bedgebury forrest would be about that) . Ideally places where they can be off the lead?

Would also be looking for any kind of dog activites......agility clubs, ringcraft for a social aspect etc......

Thanks very much

There's Capstone country park which should only be about 5/10 mins drive. Nice big open spaces and off lead is fine. Only down side is the poo bins are only around the car park, so you do end up carrying it with you for a long time.

Hi,

All the afore-mentioned are close by as well as Riverside Country Park and the Great Lines will be useful for a quick leg stretch.
As far as Clubs etc you should have no problem. There is at least one training club in Chatham and I can know of at least 3 ringcraft clubs nearby.

About 30 mins away from you (up the A249) is Hucking woods , fab place to walk dogs , i spend hours there. My trainer in Sittingbourne is also fabulous , she has done wonders with my shepherds and only uses positive methods. Good luck with your move.
