Hi all,
I know it's a long shot but has anybody travelled to the above or nearby?
Plan to go in April but am unsure of best way. Should I fly to Portland or Seattle? Am only going for 3/4 days so any advice gratefully received.
Jeff.

Jeff,
BA fly direct Heathrow to Seattle, then you'd look at a connecting flight to Albany.
You could also fly into any US airport with a direct flight and then get a connecting to Albany.
There are no direct flights to Portland from the UK, I looked at that myself before with regards a show I wanted to attend.
The more changes you have in a flight the cheaper it becomes, but clearly a longer journey over all.
If only going for a few days and you want the quickest way, which may come in roughly an extra £100 more for example then i'd do that.
I've been looking online and I can't see that any commercial airline flies into Albany. It looks more private and cargo only. AA don't go there, nor do South West..

Jeff I have done another search and unless you are on a private aircraft it doesn't look possible to fly into Albany, Oregon at all.
Bit like Biggin Hill, no commercial aircraft go in there that i'm aware of..

Thanks, I was hoping I had missed something obvious and there would be some flights into Albany-the private jet is grounded unfortunately! ;-)
Thanks again,
Jeff.

Drat. Isn't that always the way? :-D

Mike my OH went to Portland a few years ago and he went via Newark which he said was ok if that helps :-)

I now have a plan!
If I do go (depends on the entry) fly to Seattle and then Amtrak to Albany.

Jeff, sounds a plan...
Amtrak is great and you get to see so much more of the country this way. I've done Boston to NYC and its great to see the country :-)
