Tiva is on a pain med patch ( Fentanyl 37 mcg) which releases pain med for 4 days- comes off on the evening of the 14th... My question is could this cause her to have the poo's or even not feel her poo coming out? She still asks to go out, but find when she is laying there sleeping some poo seems to just come out on its own. Have any of you had any experience with this? She is also on Clavaseptin 250 mg (antibiotic) 1/2 tablet every 12 hrs till gone.

Thank you :-)

I don't know that particular medication but my old boy has been on pain killers and his poo was liquid. It says in this meds leaflet to stop if experiencing runny poos or vomitting. It might be worth checking with the vet as there may be another type they can give if this is the cause.
Good Luck

I am waiting for them to call me back- left a message 2hrs ago so am hoping soon I get a phone call...

Its almost like when she is relaxed sleeping then poo seems to slide out of her bum, was thinking maybe due to the meds she doesn't even no- hope she goes back to normal once the pain patch comes off on thursday...

Thank you for the reply greatly appreciated :-)

The vet called me back and said it usually causes constipation, no problem there I said... I figured I'll just wait and see till I remove the pain patch thursday night.

Junior never had this problem when his eye was removed- think he was like 3-4yrs old.

My friends dog who had his eye removed a year or 2 ago had the same problem, she said once his pain meds and antibiotics were done he was back to normal. So am thinking its an age thing maybe.

Tiva is doing fine, sleep alot and loves a cuddle. Just looks so sad with that collar stuck on her head- have to hand feed her but she that will change once its off plus have to soggy her food for now which I am fine with. She seems to really enjoy all the attention. Have to carry her in and out of the house since she can't do the stairs so am really relying on my children since I have to go back to work today- had them do it yesterday and they are pretty good and wipe her lil bum since poo is so runny.
