My bitch is due in season in about a week or two. She has become more enlarged tonight however she has started humping my male dog who is the stud. Is this normal and what does it mean?

Seriously though, a lot of bitches will hump, it doesn't actually mean that they're ovulating.  My guess is that she is getting close, and her hormones are kicking off.  Mine usually swell the week before the season starts.
