I was wondering if my dogs can have goats milk for a treat, or will they just get the poo's from it? They are older dogs ages 9, 10 & 12yrs

We bought some for my son to try (lactose intolerant) and he don't like it plus he ends up in the bathroom anyhow- back to lactose milk and soy for him. I just didn't want to waste it so was wondering.

Thanks Shelly :-)

Mine have Goats Milk and they love it, not had upset tum's from it here.. Don't they say that dogs are lactose intolerant anyway?

Ya I think so- maybe I'll give them some and see how they do on it- thanks :-)

I never give anything else but goat's milk to my dogs. I find it's the cow's milk that gives them the skits!

I'm weaning 4 week old pups with goats milk and puppy kibble and no upset tummies here either.  They love it!

I've used probiotic yogurt for my dog when he's had a tummy upset, but managed to find pro-b Goat's yogurt recently - more than twice the price, but it worked beautifully. Even a week after its so-called use-by date, it was fine.

Totally agree about the Goat's yogurt.  Some months ago I had a pup that was a bit loose.  Someone at work recommended using Goat's yogurt, and I actually gave it to the whole litter.

They loved it.

I have given them yogurt, not goat yogurt...

Gave all 3 goats milk yesterday and they just loved it- glad its not going to waste :-)

My previous litter loved goats milk, as did their Uncle Henry who used to jump into the pen and drink it for them, bless him! Singleton from current litter wouldn't touch it so I gave up.

Goats milk fan here too. We've a litter just over  weeks and they've been having it since weaning with no problems at all. Any leftovers (not likely!!) their mum has, and she's fine too.

Glad it went down well :)

Another vote for the goats milk here too.  Never use anything else with puppies and never had the squits! I agree it's the cow juice that usually causes the problems :-(

Mine have all had a drink of goats milk for 'breakfast' since they were pups and they range from 12 to 2 years, even my cat has her helping too.
