Hi wonder if anyone can shed any light or advise anything different...

I recently dropped some weight of my young dog as people said she was carrying a little to much weight, at this time she had only just come out of puppy.

Since dropping the weight she looks slab sided not as much body, someone suggested giving her milk before going in the ring. Does this make them bloated giving the effect of more body?

I look forward to your comments

It sounds to me like your do is just oing through the growing stages and is still developing. Hoe old is she, and at what age are the breed classed as mature? My breed are still developing at 2 years old, and could still be maturing nicely at 3, so if you have a medium/lare breed I wouldn't be overly worried about her being slab sided yet if she is still quite young. Proper exercise is far more important to me, too little and they don't muscle up nicely, too much and they become all muscle on top of muscle. ;-)

Never heard of giving milk just before going into the ring. The only time mine get milk is when I don't finish my breakfast and they get the leftovers to drink :-p

Think that you will be told all sorts of strange things each breed seems to have a collection of old exhibitors tales and some more are generalized. Agree that your bitch is just growing up and to have a teenage figure when she is a teenager is what a good judge would expect, don't try to change your youngster just let her grow in a natural way and no doubt she will become a beautiful swan when completely adult.

I would like to apologise for all the spelling mistakes in my previous post  My letter 'g' doesn't always work ;-) I try to check before hitting the post button, but think it was too early this morning :-p
