I am probably being daft but for example have found details of dog show on 19th dec at woking how do I know roughly when the breed I am going to see is in the ring. Last show I managed to miss the particular breed I wanted.
i am I just missing iton the paperwork or is there a code ?
BTw sue jaw thanks found the details

For open shows and some champ shows it will be printed in the schedule (each ring will have a list of breeds printed next to it, showing which order they will be judged in -then it's guess work as to what time it will be as it depends on the number of dogs per breed -some may have 50, others one or none) , for other champ shows order of judging is posted to the exhibitors before the show.

If its not in the schedule then it is hoped the running oder will come out in one of the dog papers a few weeks before, but not always.

The schedule confirms first in ring only for this show.

Have you found a schedule - its on Penneypine think?

What breed were you after?

It is almost impossible to have either times or running order in the schedule for an open show you just have no idea of the entry numbers, once the entries are in you can publish the running order and if asked hazard a guess at the time. I never publish times because they have to be "NOT BEFORE" times and that just leads to empty rings and exhibitors waiting. So although you do your best it is impossible to be exact but most show secretaries will be happy to give you their estimate as long as you don't complain it they are not spot on.

Hopefully, just seen we are being judged outside too, along with the Flatties.

I remember a few years ago now over in Maidstone going around the ring in the snow!! Have pictures from that day.. Rachel I think was there too..So don't worry too much about the weather, though last year this show was at the time of our major snow storm!!

I agree with Nova-I am a secretary of an all breed Open Show-and we state in schedule-judging not as per schedule-what we do is put what time Groups are-say not before 12.30pm for four groups-after 12.30pm for three groups-that then gives the entrants a vague idea of time.
They can then in the morning or in the afternoon.

One can give the times for each breed as several dogs may be absent.

We work out once all entriesa are in the number of dogs then divide in to the rings-we have not so far had a ring sitting empty and the show runs smoothly and ends at 4pm.

We all do our best to help people-after all, without them we would have no show.
