Can anyone recommend at which days this should be given at please?

We have just used it for a bitch a few months ago and you give I think a week or so before the bitch is mated and again when pregnant, I cant remember specific dates but your vet should know.

When I enquired about this with my vet he said 1 injection first week of season and 2nd injection 2 weeks before whelping.

i get it done wen i take bitch to get blood took for ovulation test,usually during week before mated /approx
then 2nd injection approx 10 days before due date.

i used it on my first litter 5 yrs ago and all puppies were big,strong puppies which thrived very well.i used it as a precaution as there was some speculatiom about mortality in newly born pups due to ch and dont regret using it.

My bitch had pups recently and she had the CHV jab. She had the first injection the day after mating and the 2nd jab was given 10 days before pups due date.

We suspsect our girls have picked it up at a show and passed it around the pack, 1 bitch has reabsorbed twice and 2 others failed to get into whelp over the last 5 yrs.

This time we've had them swabbed before mating to ensure there's no other nasties causing us problems from previous mating attempts and CHV done 7 days post mating.  The bitch is pregnant hitting 7 wks today so due for her pre delivery jab on Monday, will let you know how things work out for us.  If all goes well we'll do the same with the other 2 bitches next yr as all are 5 now so don't want to be any older before having their first litters.
