who desides which sex your going to get in the litter? the reason i ask ive had a wonderful phone call tonight with the owner of a bitch that came here 59 days ago to see our boy ,she has just had 11 pups ,(couldnt believe it)LOL ,only 3 girls in the litter ,he asked me who desided and i carnt remember :( im so tired laying tiles for 3days none stop! :( ...

Not too sure about canines but in humans it is often the case that males will father a majority of one sex although they are able to father the opposite sex particularly if there in a gap in the production. Would think that with dogs it is the same although they may be inclined to produce one sex more than the other although this may change over time, guess it is a case of the percentage of sperm carrying the Y chromosomes at one time it may be very high and at others low.

we are waiting for 1 of our girls to come into season (4weeks late :( ) so will be interesting to see how many and what we get ,thats if she ever comes in that is LOL ,thanks nova x
