I thought I just have a little moan... I sent off 2 export pedigree's recently for some new puppy owners and my god did it take a long time for them to get processed and sent out, I mean it must have taken about 2 months. I had to keep telling people that our KC over here was slow, but I didn't realise that it took that long, I suppose its because of the sheer number of dogs registered in the UK.

So if anybody has to send off for anything give it a while, to be honest I was probably a little impatient :). Is this the normal amount of time or have any of you had them through faster?

I've given up on importing a pregnant dog from Spain because it takes ages for them to do an export pedigree in Spain, she would only be here for 12 weeks and then I'd have to request an export pedigree from here back to her original breeder which again would take months and by the time it would be all through the pups would be getting on.

Don't know why you have to go so long winded just to have a litter of pups over here for a dog in reality who is going back to her breeder a few weeks later and that i didn't really want registering in my name!

It has taken nearly 3 months to get my import registered here AND they have typed her name wrong so it is still not done!
I'm waiting for the HOPEFULLY corrected paperwork to come in at the moment...

With my last one it was little quicker but they spelled her name wrong too!
How difficult is it considering the dogs name is typed up many times in the copies of registration papers from the country of origin(so can't be my dodgy handwriting).
Surely if the name means nothing to you you would double and triple check you have spelled it correctly?

Based on my limited experience, I'm thinking sending registration papers off for my next litter now :).... She has not even been mated yet...

I sent back the signed form, along with the signed KC reg cert, to the new owner for her to then apply, when pup was about 7 weeks, which she got through before pup came out of Quarantine, had gone in at 13 weeks out at 17.

I think she told me she had sent of her application to register her pup in Australia when half way through quarantine, so it probably took about a month or 6 weeks.

No worse than the time registrations used to take before on-line registration was available.
