Could you flattie people tell me where I would look to find out about what is a good hip score for a flatcoat and what other health test would you expect to see done on propective parents please?

You should find this helpful http://www.bva.co.uk/public/documents/BMS_hip_2010%281%29.pdf

It would seem Flat coats have a mean score of 9

Oh no please dont, Maybe I had better get making that sloe gin  (wink wink)
The truth is intend to have two more doggies one toy breed and a flatti no not as puppies  all together ! staggered arrival over the next few years. still having trouble in exactly which toy breed so many I like but thinking a ie flattie first. He wont notice a little one after that I will tell him he is seeing double lol
Oh has just got to get used to the fact that there are not enough years in my life where I can have one dog at a time given that toys go for hopefully  what ?14+ and we already have a toy and a gsd aged 2 and 3 SO we are going to remain a multi dog household hehe and I think it will be a flatti next.
Mind it does all depend on himself getting back into work and at a decent salary ho hum !
Still I am loving the visiting dog shows and the research
Eye tests thats another to check thanks. Mind most of the flatti people I have met do seem to be pretty good breeders

We're pretty good by an large!!   Eye tests must include gonioscopy.

It's sign of a good stud owner as well if the sire at least has been patella tested OK.    Although not all bitches are tested....

Totally understand your argument.  :-)

I realise that pet dog owners say that they couldn't cope with my houseful, but it works for me.  I love it when visitors are impressed with them!  I recently had a lady vist with 2 daughters, wanting to mate their little Yorkie girl.  After explaining all the problems that can crop up, they have changed their minds, but I think they made the right decision for a much loved pet.  One of the daughters ( in her 20's) said - I can understand why you have every one of them.  I was so, so chuffed with the gang.

All living indoors makes it easy to study dog behaviour, and their interaction with each other.  I don't think they're human, but I would probably say that they are sometimes a lot nicer than humans!

So, as far as hubby goes - move slowly but surely.  And mine's a large one!  :-)  :-)
