Go as Adam Ant or one of the Ants, just a stripe of white face paint across your face, black trousers & jacket witha white flouncy blouse. Possibly easier than tracking down leg warmers, neon clothes, fingerless lace gloves etc, etc.

What about finding like a cream/white crochet tablecloth, blanket and may be glue/sew on loads of shells and pebbles (if you live by the sea then great - free). It would look like a Sea Irchin may be cut a whole for your head. If you are sitting down most of the time then just some light/pale cream/white tights. May be add a little sponge type thing and authentic seaweed to the effect. Make up a sea irchin name with little shells stick um on the top right hand side of your garment . There you go..If you lived in North Wales I would be in my glory helping you put it all together...:) I take it you don't have the figure for my previous reply :)
You are a super star! Thank you so much for the brilliant idea! We have numerous charity shops so can find tablecloth/ base easily.....and yep live right by the sea so can access beachy things to stick on too. Certainly dont have a nymph figure....now the token old person in this venture Last month it was a 5 a side football...we wore shorts with stuck on bottoms and bought things, with bright red war paint on our faces....

Sounds like you have fun at these events
I need to learn how to spell Sea Urchin though. English wasn't my No 1 subject.
It's been work stuff. I will join in if required and at the moment the younger ones are keen sports and fun people, so we all get carried along too (well us willing old fools) The Dragon boat racing is to raise funds for a bone marrow transplant charity and the football was a hospital teams building annual event. As my children are old enough now, I am free again to do these things :) :)

Hey remember, you're only as old as you feel. I bet you have as much fun as the youngster's do if not more. Whenever or wherever I go out (not often at the mo, no one to have my dog) it's the older generation who are having the most fun. And us youngsters (notice I class myself as one, wishingly) watching on getting all embarrassed by their behaviour.
Well done on your fundraising events as well. Oh and the costume looks fab...
Neon, leg warmers, mullets, ra ra skirts, leopard print, leggings, madonna type clothe gloves, fishnets etc, Cindi lauper....a lot of today's fashion is very much eighties. I had a eighties do recently, it was great fun...there was a Freddie Mercury, Madonna's, Mr T (A team) Tina Turner, and a few Pat sharps!! ;)
Me and my friends have been to one, I was Rainbow Brite, we had a My Little Pony, a Care Bear, Jem and a She-ra. There is shops that provide some of those outfits but we mostly improvised.
Thanks for the costume ideas. She-Ra is a favourite at the moment - only cos i was a massive fan as a child & am obviously trying to recapture my youth ;-)
