- By Lea Date 18.09.10 18:37 UTC
After reading a thread that said they had seen a marakble improvement can anyone give me any experiences of these??? Both good bad and indeference,
My 5 year old Rottie has HD and is on neutrdykl and Rimadil but the rimadyl isnt working so its either change to a different med or was looking at getteing one of these.
Any advice would be very grateful :) :)

I asked for recommendations recently for magnetic collars and bioflow came through as a firm favourite with the people on here.  On the basis of that I ordered a collar on Thursday and am hoping it makes a difference but even if it doesn't there is a 90 day money back guarantee so it is a total win win for me.

I would not be without mine!!!

>even if it doesn't there is a 90 day money back guarantee so it is a total win win for me.

And I can confirm that they genuinely do pay up when you send it back.

I purchased one for a rescue I was fostering and although she was only with me a short time it did seem to help.

I where one myself (a braclet not a collar!) and it really does work. I used the bioflow boots on my horse they took all the swelling down. I had one for my old collie who had artheritis. It made no difference, I think this was because the magnet did not touch his skin because he  had such a thick ruff.
Hydrotharpy did my collie the world of good.
If the rimadil is not working go back to the vet there are others.

Which company is the best to get them from as ordering it today.
Found this one :-

Norstar are also good - they also sell a magnet wand which my GSD found very comforting.  So much so if I tried to use it she'd come over and nudge me to use it on her....as soon as it was switched on you could see she felt a benefit.

This is where I got mine recently, and on offer http://www.amazinghealth.co.uk/bioflow-dog-collar.htm

I thought eco magnets were the manufacturers.  I bought from them and thought delivery took ages but forgot I put my work address down and it was actually delivered the day after I ordered it - doh!  I am seeing good progress already and missy hasn't had painkillers since she got the collar and has been able to go on proper walks again withouth any limping.
- By Lea Date 30.09.10 08:34 UTC
Ah right :)
There are so many that sell them I didnt know which to go for.
Will order it tonight thankyou :)

I have been interested in reading this topic. Have a dog that I would like to try one, but as a hound with a heavy dewlap he doesn't wear a collar at home. Do they have to be worn all of the time or would someone have any suggestions. Many thanks
- By Lea Date 30.09.10 09:28 UTC
Lacy they do pads to sleep on, but also, I dont know where I found it on my travels for looking for a collar I saw something called a Zapper, someone might know what I am on about as cant find the link now!!!! you hold it and put it near the animal which is meant to help. Thats what it said on the site.

Do they have to be worn all of the time

When I visit my daughter, I know immediately by their old lady's movement if she's wearing her collar or if they've forgotten to put it back on after grooming her!
- By Debussy [gb] Date 03.10.10 14:52 UTC
Read this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1221015/Copper-bracelet-arthritis-cure-myth-say-scientists-casting-doubt-multi-million-pound-alternative-healthcare-industry.html

I'm afraid they make no improvement to arthritic conditions - and this has been scientifically proven for human useage.  I would presume then that they would make no difference to pets' welfare.  Another company just trying to make money from 'natural' remedies.
- By WestCoast Date 03.10.10 15:54 UTC
Interesting - they don't specify the make of bracelet tested.  I agree that the ones bought in a well known High Street chemist or from markets are as useful as chocolate teapots!
But I think that the majority of people who have tried Bioflow are pleased with them, so not always a good idea to presume without experience.  And as already said, they will refund the purchase price if anyone is not happy. :)
- By Lea Date 04.10.10 16:44 UTC
Well I have ordered it!!! So will see what happens.
As it has a 90 day money back guaruntee I cant lose if it is just a money making company ;)

Try reading this article, and then the hilarious comments that follow mostly from their own distributors.

- By sillysue Date 04.10.10 20:35 UTC
Sorry Debussy, my dog cannot read these articles but she and I know that within 2 days of wearing the bioflow collar she could walk without screaming in pain. She was within hours of being pts as my vet could do no more for her, and I bought the collar as a last chance to save her life. Humans may have the placibo effect with these things, but dogs do not. My vet agreed that he had heard of many dogs having amazing recoveries with these collars - and no he doesn't sell them. Hilarious comments don't mean a thing, anyone can mock, I can only go on the effect it had on my dog and that was not imagination
- By Lacy Date 04.10.10 21:16 UTC
I don't understand the need to mock, if a dog gets relief from the wearing of one of these collars why not accept it and be pleased that it helps, it can hardly be the placiblo effect. I shall certainly be getting for one of our dogs, even the orthopaedic specialist suggested it.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 04.10.10 21:24 UTC
The placebo effect works when owners are actively watching for changes that they wouldn't have noticed before, even though they were happening.
- By suejaw Date 04.10.10 22:36 UTC
Not sure how much a decent collar is but my sister has got one for her JRT who apparently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in a front foot. I hope she has got a good one, so will see if it works for her boy paying £12.
- By WestCoast Date 05.10.10 06:18 UTC
You can buy a Bioflow dog collar for around £25, less than most Vet's consultation fee and they don't give a money back guarantee if their don't get an improvement!
Nothing works for everyone.  My daughter is an Osteopath and has seen good improvements in many conditions.  She has bought a couple of bracelets that she lends to her patients for a couple of weeks and if they find it helps, then they buy their own.  Very few don't find them helpful.
- By Lea Date 05.10.10 08:40 UTC
Well ordered it at 5.30 last night.
It cost £30 including P&P.
Will let you know how quick it arrives and if we see any improvments :)
Will make sure I dont let ebba near the computer to read up on them ;)

My Mum had artritis for years and when my OH got interested in bioflow she said "give me one and I will tell you if it works" she never gave it back and both she and Dad wore one up to her death and Dad still has his. So does my OH. I tried one and it didnt make any difference to my hands at all - so I dont use one.

I cant take asprin it makes my stomach bleed, some people use a tablet every day for bloodflow. Not all things suit all people.

Penicillen can save a life, Sam & I would go into anaphlactic shock and die!!

I have got Jake a bioflow to see if it will help with his shoulder (had an op for OCD aged about 9 months?)
if it helps I can cut his medication, Cosequine, from 2 tablets to 1 and save some money. If it doesn't we will stick at 2 a day - no problem. But dont knock it if you haven't tried it.

Belief is a strong medicine, my DIL waers a copper bracelet says it works - I think its bunkum but it may just work if you believe in it enough.

Im with sillysue Im trying and for my dog I will continue to try and try and I believe if the dog is better - she's better end of subject.

Well, the coller came within 2 days :) :)
Put it on and could see improvement within the week :) :) :)
She was on Rymadyl and neutradyl for the last year, but hasnt been on the rymadyl since october, and  even through the -10 degrees she didnt limp :) :) Before the bio flow coller she would limp if it was below 5 degrees!!!!
We have now run out of neutradyl and she is limping every so often again, but not half as much as she did when she was off neutradyl before :) :) AND its still cold.
So I give the THUMBS up to the bio flow coller :) :) :)

Do you recommend it for use on my Rotty bitch who had corrective surgery on her elbow 10 months ago. She is sound now but have restricted flexibility.  I would be happy for her to wear one as a preventitive measure for the future as she will almost definately suffer from arthritis later in life.  Or should I wait until she needs relief from it.  She was on Rimadyl & Tramadol but is drug free at the moment.
- By Jocelyn [gb] Date 22.01.11 20:17 UTC
I put one on my Border collie but it made no difference I thick it was because he had a very thick ruff, so it did not contact the skin.
I have used the boots on my horse with a big improvement, they took all the swelling away from his hock. They make an animal drink more for a few days which it did.
I were one myself so I know its works, I can tell the difference if I forget to put it back on for a few days.
I would get one for her now, it might help to make her more flexable and shes short haired so it will be nearer the skin than on my dog.

my collie was on Rimadyl on and off for a few years, in the end he had liver and kidney failer. I still think it was the drugs although the vet said not.

If I had other dog on it I would have blood tests done every year.

I guess we have nothing to lose.  Does anyone have any links for them??
Are there different bioflow collars or just one make?
- By Lea Date 22.01.11 20:44 UTC

This is the link.
Brilliant service.
Nothing to loose :) :)

Thanks Lea. Will order one on Monday.x

Bought one for my old boy at Mid Counties, she asked if I was going to LKA and would I visit the stand and tell them if there had been any  improvement. Having had a dog that you could see was getting a bit stiff I now had one who thought he was a puppy again and was leaping for toys, so I went and told them- they were chuffed.
They are not cheap but it was worth every penny. I don't know if there are other outlets but I reccomend the proper stockist.
- By WestCoast Date 23.01.11 10:17 UTC
And make sure that you buy a Bioflow and not cheaper immitations. :)
My daughter's old is here at the moment.  If they forget to put hers back on after grooming, I know the minute I see the old dog, without putting my hands on her but by the way she's walking.
- By Whistler [gb] Date 24.01.11 08:48 UTC
Jake's still on half medication and isnt limping at all - I think it does work, it didn't on me but the rest of the family (dad, OH) it did/does, and dogs def. works. Worth a try to reduce medication and avoid more operations - Well done you!!
