Are marrowbones or the smaller bones best and is it best to cook them first?

Thx!

4 weeks, raw, smaller ones, only marrow bones are blasted to sanitise in the oven (for 45 minutes on full) after everything worth chewing off has gone.

You definitely should never cook bones as it will make them splinter. Lamb rib bones are great for even the tiniest of pups.

my pups will have RAW chicken wings and pig ears from 4 weeks, then progress to larger bones. They adore a lovely fresh pigs trotter.

Any pups here have bones from as soon as they come home!

interestingly, I've found with a pup I've got here for a while (not mine, but am looking after for a few weeks) who is on raw, that I'm having to give him chicken carcass, as he just tries to bolt the wings.  I'm feeding him separately when I give him bones, so he doesn't feel pressured into eating it as quickly as possible.  He also gets green tripe and beef heart, and a few other odds and ends, and I'll be trying him with lamb bones soon, he's now about 14 weeks old.  I can't remember having the same problem with my two as pups, but then they're Labs, and he's a spaniel pup, perhaps that's the difference??
