I daresay wellies required for Darlington-if people going on the Friday/Saturday any chance of a ground report please?

I remember 2008-I was stewarding for a Toy Breed and we were in the BIS tent-I was picking mud up off the ground before judging and trying my best to wipe down grooming table and steward table with baby wipes.

Will make sure I have lots of wipes and bags with me this year.

I think if one has all the right weatherproof graments on it is OK.

I remember one lady showing a large breed with no shoes on.

All the best to those going.

Its for just that reason i am not going this year, we camped 2 years ago what a nightmare ! towed on and off the campsite knee deep in mud , all 3 dogs caked in mud , even our judge had latex gloves on to go over the dogs it just wasnt any fun but good luck to all who go this year.its ok for humans to dress for the weather but if you ever try to show a newfie or heavy coated large/giant breed in those conditions honest it really is no fun at all

Wellies packed was covered in mud in 2008.  At least they put boarding down but only by the tenting.  There were huge puddles.

Im supposed to be going saturday but just back from vets after my girl started limping, he thinks she has banged her elbow. Little bit of inflammation so lots of rest and tablets. The weather forecast i saw said supposed to be dry and sunny on saturday but only 14 degrees. Ground will not dry up by then though! Wellies definately needed.

I live about an hour away and we havent had that much rain over the last couple of days and the forecast is supposed to be good for Friday but not so good for the weekend.

Hopefully it wont be that bad but will let you know tomorrow night :-)

Talked to a friend this morning who is already there on the camp site, and said the ground is fine.  It rained a little yesterday, but stopped quickly and there has been a stiffish wind blowing so everything is bone dry.

Sounding promising then!  I am reserving judgement until friday eve as showing an oes in mud knee deep is not a lot of fun!  Hopefully anyone showing tomorrow will keep us updated...

Forecast for Ripon tomorrow is light rain (cloudy today). I find that compared to our side of the Pennines the Yorshire side is usually fairly dry and the ground is not so unforgiving as here :)

Good luck to all going!

The price is 10 pounds per car but you cant take unentered dogs with you.
