With only ten days to go and depending on breed size, you might be able to feel them if you gentaly lay your hand flat on the belly, it could be enough to make them jiggle if you touch them or gently stroke her.

i felt my breeders dogs pups when touched the tummy, if I can do it anyone can lol.

I does sound like she could be.  Does she have any other signs like swollen teats.

You could look for a scanner that does home visits if you ask on here someone should know whats in your area.

Hello Eddieluck,

Was she mated or are you worrying she had an encounter without you knowing, not judging you at all, i just couldn't tell from your post.

I've never had scan pretty much for the same reason as you,i try to avoid taking a pregnant bitch into a vets waiting room, although as mentioned a mobile scanner is a much safer option.
At this stage you may be able to feel slight movement when you place your hand on her tum and it is only during the last week i actually  see much in the way of puppy movement even with a fairly large litter.
When i once had a small litter for our breed of five i felt and saw nothing until the last week, with my most recent litter of nine i was starting to feel them at around 10 days and seeing them move in the last week.
I would play safe and carry on preparing as if she were, you should know in the next few days,

Best of luck.

I'm one of those people that never have scans.  They are either pregnant, or they're not, and it isn't that long a wait to find out.

I often don't feel movement until the last week.  I once had a bitch that I could feel no movement at all until the day before she whelped, when I actually watched as they moved down from under the ribcage.

If I've had a bitch mated, she is always treated as if she's pregnant, wormed from day 40, changed to puppy food towards the end of gestation etc.

Don't worry too much about not feeling movement.  I'm sure that if there were any problems with your girl, you would have noticed that something wasn't quite right.

The truth is, the little b*****s like to keep us guessing, and it's a bonus if they can stop us sleeping at night, while we worry about them!  :-)  :-)

With my large dogs, about ten days before the birth I can clearly see movements -the stomach is jumping about a lot. With my toydogs, I usually don't feel movements until a couple of days or so before the birth, and can't see them. Could be because my large breed is shortcoated and my small breed longcoated, so the fur either hides or do not -don't know as I've not had pups from other breeds.

I never see movement, and rarely feel it, and only in the last week.  Medium size thick double coated breed.

i get feel movement from about day 50 and see them move around the same time too, mine are a short coated breed

If your bitch has longish hair you can often tell as the hair turns outwards at the bottom of ribs rather than inwards.  Often a first outward sign of pregnancy.  Not helpful if you've a short coated dog!  Penny

I've seen some bitches belonging to friends who are very obviously pregnant, but both times my own bitch has kept me guessing until they popped out, apart from sometimes being able to hear a heartbeat in the last week or so. She's rarely put on much weight or got obviously fat, but then she had only 2 the first time and 1 the second.
