need some help please. When I go on FB all I can see is old news, mainly close friends, dog pics etc. there is no option to change from top news to most recent. Tried logging off and in again but no use. If I use Blackberry to go on FB, no probs. I have not changed any settings that I am aware of. Any suggetsions?

On the left hand side there should be a load of options, check thats on the correct option.
Mine goes to the automatically but at the top of the page to the right it has 'top news' and 'most recent'

Or you could try by clicking on the the word Facebook in the top left hand corner, that also takes me back to the most recent..
I went through the settings and unless i'm missing something I can't see how this can be adjusted.

The only options on left are news feed, messages or friends. Clicking on news feed does not do anything. Neither did clicking on Facebook :-(

I'd put a question on it.
Go to help at the bottom of the page. On the left there should be help discussions and by clicking through for help on news feeds you should either find the question already asked or can ask it yourself..

I have already done that though they do say they dont guarantee to answer all questions. I have tried Kapernsky anti virus which isolated 4 trojans but now something seems wrong with that in that it says black list and database are corrupt and has disappeared from task ba. Grr. The guy who normally can talk me through this is off to Hong Kong for 8 weeks today. Frustration!!

I think there is a FB problem today as I can't see anything on the main page either so don't worry I think after a few hours it should be fixed :-)

at the left hand side menu, click on friends, and then when that page loads, underneath the friends button loads a sub menu, click status updates, and there should b all the new status' , hope this helps :)

Mine always shows old stuff too, but there's a little blue circle near the 'news feed' title which says 'most recent - 176+' or whatever, and if I click on that I get the new stuff.

Thanks Kirtz, though I still dont have an option on right side to see Top news or Most recent,  that works but Lucy, I dont seem to have a blue circle?

Have you downloaded Facebook Purity? If so check that you haven't asked 'new updates' to be blocked.

Sorry Star, I'm a bit vague on it myself! Mine just says 'top news' and 'most recent' near the top, and if there's new posts it puts how many, I think white on blue background, in a little circle next to the two headings.

To view Status Updates from your friends on your home page, select "Friends" from your left hand navigation dashboard menu. Then, select the "Status Updates" filter from the left side of the page.

That works but each time I navigate from page it goes again. At least I can read posts for now. I have just been 'googling' and it seems there is some sort of Bug which is affecting soeme users. May just have to sit it out till sorted. Thanks for your help.x

That is the new layout.. the status update disappeared a while back.

ditto Lucy, I don't know why it can't automatically go to most recent, why would you want the old stuff?

Can't say like Facebook, ti is so messy, and I decline most friend requests as the more you have the worse it is, as it all runs in a line.

Far prefer being able to click on a topic that takes my eye like here.

I liked the Old MSN Groups, and the new Multiply is OKish, but Facebook no, but I go on because so many of he people I do wish to keep in touch with are on it, especially puppy owners, and easy way to keep watch for any niggling problems to nip in the bus with some advice.
