Hi,

I want to bring my Neopolitan Bitch over from South Africa and a couple of friends have said that I should bring her into Europe, get a pet passport and then come into the UK. Has anyone ever done this and is it possible!

Yes it's possible, and would avoid quarantine, but would be no quicker.

Can the passport not be done in South Africa before you fly over with the dog?

South Africa isn't accepted as a country for a pets passport to the UK; it would have to be quarantine or a stay in an approved country for the required 7 months.

Yep only options are 6 months quarantine in UK, or at least 7 months in a Pet Travel scheme country (so boarding kennels, friends/family).
