Hi. I wouldn't worry our 7 month old gr always has a mouthfull of dirt or grass or anything she can dig up from the garden really!! She was on wainwrights, but it made her very poorly, but if it suits your pup I would stick to it.

Wainwrights is a very good food and if it suits you pup, which it sounds as though it is then i wouldn't go changing thier food around.
Lots of puppies eat grass roots dirt and all sorts, so I wouldn't worry too much, unless they are swallowing stones with it.  Perhaps replace them with a stuffed kong to take thier mind off it or do some training etc to distract, but i am sure they will grow out of it in thier own time.

I use wainwrights puppy for all my pups and its a good complete....my youngest pup has just gone on to wainwright adult at 12months old..salmon and potato is the flavour I like to feed them all.
Pups will eat roots and grass and anything else that looks tasty.
