Please oh please with a cherry on the top, is there anyone who is a bit good with these damn machines??!!

get comfy and I'll tell you all about it :D
I am finally trying to load my fugipix 2600z(camera) software on the pc (yes I know I bought it eons ago, I been busy) and the **$$@#&$@## thing won't load properly, tells me it can't find 'USBNTMAP.SYS'
and 'USBSTOR.SYS' so being half intelligent I look in the troubleshooting bit and it tells me to insert my windows disk, so I do, still tells me it can't find them!!! (system running M.E BTW)
So now I'm right up the raging creek without a damn paddle and I can't swim!!!

Somebody please tell me what to do, apart from sticking pc in Bill Gates nether regions I don't have a clue!lol
I know I need these files but don't know where to find them( feel like little Bo Peep) or what to do with them when i do!!
This is getting desperate, as not only will Bill be feeling uncomfortable in the nether region, so will hubby as that is where I'll insert his stupid camera!!
Jue-tired and emotional and thoroughly p'd off in Wiltshire!!

hi Liz,
Yup!! loaded Fuji disk, error message flashes up so fast whilst it's loading the driver that you can't read it!!
The finepix Viewer and the VideoImpression progs load fine, but when i connect the camera and it tries to install it it can't find the 2 files.
I've ran a search on the win ME disk and they're not on there either :(
I want my Muuuuuuuummmmmmyyyyyyy :(
Jue- still p'd off and getting dangerously close to binning the whole lot!!!!!!

Have you tried system restore --its in accessories -restore the system to before you started and then try again from the beginning and don't plug anything in untill the programme is installed

Julie,
This is a silly question is the camera Mil edition compatible, I think it is bt best check.
I have the FP2300 and the FP2800Z digital cameras and had no probs once I put the disk in. I am running XP.

Yep, hubby would love a digi camera. It mystifies me, though, since he doesn't like dealing with the easy/nice one we've had. I do all of the photos  But this has been one of his greatest 'wants' for several years....not with our dinasaur, though  I'd be the one trying to make it work on here, not him. :P
That's why in the Spring, we hope to get a completely new system with everything in a complete package at once!!!!! It would also be on warranty where I could call everyone one up to walk me through any problems!!!!! :D :D

Lol Nat :D
well I got it working at about 10 last night, and by then was too fed up to really try it all and see what it can do!!
Sent Steve back with the XP upgrade!! don't want to risk completely killing the pc trying to load that on as well

I like computers....... they just don't seem to like me!! I'm one of those poeple that get electric shocks off the car if I'm wearing the wrong shoes!! I'm pretty good at giving them to other people as well, imagine what I do to the pc!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I'm lucky, my digi camera came with a choice of connecters & we chose not to use a USB port so it worked straight away, but I have heard of loads of people having the same problems Julie so you are not alone.
I spoke to someone about the XP upgrade too and they would not recommend it, said you need to go for the full programme otherwise it can cause a multitude of problems.

I am very lucky ...quite by chance I found a wonderful solution to my many problems with my old digital camera and the uploading the pics etc ....when I upgraded my PC I bought a Sony Vaio ...and hubby also bought me a Sony digital camera. The camera has a *memory stick* ..I take the piccies ...remove the memory stick ..pop the memory stick into the PC (theres a special little place at the front) and BINGO! The piccies get downloaded in about 10 seconds :D

I used to work for TINY.... so the best thing to do is go to the fuji website and download the drivers for your camera that are compatible with M.E.... If memory serves me there is a glitch with the software that came with some of the cameras and they only loaded on 98 and XP.... (dont quote me on that)
the fuji site is quite good it explains what to do and how to do it quite well you should be OK

Digital cameras - "Photography Made Easy"
LOLOLOLOLOLOL:D
Sticking to my Pentax P50, methinks. OK, I have to send the films off, but I get them back on CD as well as on paper. As the photo CD has an autoinstall program on it, no problem at all.
I have a favourite saying, which fits here:
"Not all progress is good progress!"

OI!
Read all the posts you ! Mine is an easy one :D
I do agree with the saying though ;) Hubby still mourns the fact that women were given the vote :D
