I am thinking of changing from my current supplier to landywoods and wondered if they are reliable with their deliveries as they only come to my area once a month and do they always deliver what you have ordered and is the meat always fresh frozen and never off,or have any of you had any problems with them.

from personal experience, i have used them for 2 years now and have had one issue of meat that was off! In fairness to them they came 2 days later and changed the whole lot. They always deliver to me every 4th friday and if there is a change they let me know. Also i email my order and if there is anything they cant supply they ring me to ask what i want instead. My dogs love there meat. i dont get my bones and carcass from them though i use another supplier for that as i think the chicken carcasses are small and the lamb bones dont have enough meat on them. But minced meats are good with lots of variety to choose from.

You will probably get different opinions but my experience has been good overall.

I have used them for 5 years and have no complaints with either the food or the deliveries.

I decided NOT to use them after reading quite a few bad reviews but, in fairness I cannot speak from personal experience.  It may also depend where you are in relation to their base as to whether the food is likely to defrost.  I'm sure with most suppliers the meat is a bit softer the later in the day your delivery is.

My supplier comes every two weeks which suits me better if I forget to order in time.  I can generally manage to scrape by for 2 weeks if I miss a delivery but I'd never last a month!  However, if you're more organised than me, and can store that amount of food each time then give them a go.  If you have problems you can always change later

I use TPMS by the way, and have always been happy with their delivery, their food, and their prices.

Where can i find the bad reviews about them,I currently use tpms who deliver every 2 weeks to the bristol area but was thinking of changing to albion but they dont have the variety in meat in the cheaper kennel bulk range and cannot guarantee availability of it.landywoods seem to have a good variety and reasonably priced,i did read comments on here about a supplier which lots of people had complaints about but cannot remember the name and cannot find the info.

I live in Bristol and have used them for about 4 years now, without any problems. My dogs are not too keen on other meat has it seems to fine minced and sloppy.But they love the stuff from Landywood. I have 7 dogs and an upright freezer that just about holds a months worth.Also they have just changed their box size from 36 blocks to 20 which i find better.

I'm in the same area and was pleased to be able to get an order delivered by TPMS on Tuesday after I left a pleading request on their answerphone on a Bank Holiday weekend.  Now that's great customer service!  Mind you, I wish they sold whole rabbit - I may ask them if they can get some :)

I don't know if they deliver to us but Suejaw put a link on another raw feeding thread about an online company that sells rabbit - might be worth a look...

Can't say my experiance was as positive! I used them for about 4 years, then changed in Dec last year as found the quality was slipping. My issues were..

My dogs often stopped eating the chicken carcasses, and I had an entire order that smelt worse than usual that I wouldn't even offer the dogs. They did swop them for me, but at first Janet told me to throw the old ones away then when it came to them replacing them (next delivery day) they would only do so if they collected the off ones! Luckily I still had them in my freezer, but only as I had not had time to dunp them.

The trotters smelt bad too, and still had straw between the toes - Do they not wash them! Dogs wouldn't eat them.

Rib bones with hardly any meat on. Didn't smell though, but probably due to the lack of meat!

When they didn't have any chick mince they sent me lamb instead with no phone call. I don't feed it so as you HAD to oder 36lb (or 18x18) this left me very short that order.

The mince I found ok, but my dogs did turn their nose up at that from time to time.

So in the end all I was ordering was the mince, so needed to find somewhere else. I did hear from lots of people who got wrong orders, or where there order didn't turn up at all, but that only happened to me once of twice. But the quality I found to be awful in the end.

I now use The Dog Food Company http://www.thedogfoodcompany.co.uk/products.html  MUCH happier. The meaty bones are really meaty, everything always fresh - often being slaughtered the day before delivery, and not frozen! Trotters no straw lol Nothing has ever smelt and you can order as much or as little of the mince as you like. Also do rabbits :o)

Hope this helps give a different opinion of them.

Think i will give landywoods a miss and stick with tpms but also get some from albion aswell.

Will also give the dfc a call to see if they deliver to my area.

I did and Gizmoo has done the same above. The Dog Food Company - not used them but thinking about it..

If you can find someone to shoot rabbit for you that's always a bonus.. If you lived closer I could give you some of ours for free!!..

I had a delivery of tripe from them once and boy did it smell. I know tripe never smells like a bed of roses but this was heaving!!!  The dogs, who are partial to rotting road kill wouldn't touch it.
I also have issues with their bones. They are stripped of every morsel of meat and are literally just bone, again the dogs lost interest very quickly.  I find butchers the best place for bones really but I can't always get them.
I do like my marrow bones for the dogs so if anyone knows of a place that leaves the bones meaty, it would be great.

RocknRose - TDFC's meaty bones are just that, MEATY! And as I said sometimes Scott has delivered fresh, not frozen, bones that were slaughtered the day before, can't get better than that! If you want to see pics of their stuff let me know, I took some to send to someone a few months ago.

They can be a bit of a nightmare to get hold of at times though :(

Sadly the dog food company dont deliver to the Midlands,Im gutted as the prices looked cracking,
if ever anyone from down there is coming to the Midlands and fancies bringing some up I will share the costs.

I have used Landywoods for years now, i have a huge delivery every month always on time with no problem. if they dont have what i need i always get a email asking if i would like some thing else.
i will not be changing. my danes look great and have been fed on there food since weaning.

i used to use landywoods but dont anymore, reasons being alot of the time i didnt get what i ordered- it would be replaced with something i didnt want, chicken wings carcasses etc were off, and the price went up and the quality went down, i now buy frozen chicken portions from sainsburys ans asda price per bag at sainsburys is £3.49 for 2.5kg and at asda its £1.35 for 1kg, the good things about it are that its loads better quality than the chicken stuff from landywoods, its also cheaper and i can keep it in my own frezzer cus it human food and i dont have to run an extra one for the dogs!
