The ATC (Authority to Compete) number is for overseas dogs only. If you are resident in the UK leave it blank
- By Lexy [gb] Date 30.08.10 14:06 UTC
Yes, as crincklecut says leave it blank but you would be surprised about the amount of folk who are resident in the UK fill in using KC reg number...

Always best to ask any question no matter how silly you think it may be, although the sec may give you a call if there is any mistakes(well I used to)

Possibly, but as the Proof of Posting from the PO is free, I would always favour that, as it has all the address details on it also.

I think the only one the KC would accept is a receipt from Royal Mail, as this proves it has been actually posted.

I used to do the same as this  that is until someone mentioned to me what it was..

I try and pay for as many shows online as possible, just because its a pain to get to the PO. I do send ones in the post, but never get POP - The other way on this is sending in a SAE(postcard) for them to send back to acknowledge your payment.

One last thing Nesstaffy - If you do not know the answer no question is silly - and good luck with your showing career.

Glad I'm not on my own.  when i first started showing, i used to fill this in (on the paper ones).  Thought I had to fill in every bit.  It wasn't until i told the club sec' that I would would have to email her this number as couldn't remember it off the top of my head i found out i didn't need it.

But trying to do crufts on line, it wouldn't let me complete without it.  I suppose its just Crufts that does that.

Enjoy showing, its adictive and fun.  I've so many nice friends now that I would have missed otherwise.

The Crufts entry asks for reg no or stud book no for dogs resident in the UK, again the ATC no is for dogs resident abroad.
