Apologies if this has been covered
I have just been re-reading my August KC gazette and was looking at the CC allocation for 2013 and notice that GSD's have none.
I know that there was talk about maybe taking them away due to all the problems within the breed and the breed clubs, but seeing as i've not had any papers recently I just wondered when this was decided and if it was down to the ongoing problems.

Thanks, so 2011 is their last year for CC's unless the clubs buck up their ideas then..

Don't think this is why - all GSD clubs who have signed the kc agreement will get their allocation of cc's for 2012, ours being one of them. Perhaps they're seeing how things pan out before deciding about 2013.

Paula if you read the KC announcement it does not seem that there are any exceptions but perhaps I misread it.
I now see it was dated last year so perhaps matters have changed.

Yes, Jackie, in the world of the kc and the GSD, things seem to have changed often over the last 12 months, but as far as we as a breed club are concerned, we can have our CCs for 2012.

Newf3,
Right the shows where there are no CC's in 2013 for Newfoundlands are as follows:
None. You have CC's at all Ch shows where there are working breeds..
Nice one :-)

Hi Paula,
I'm reading from the August 2010 gazette where there are no CC's for any of the general Ch shows. Obviously doesn't mention in here breed clubs.

woo hoo that's great news, no loss of CC's as a few shows have had very low entrys for the last couple of years.

We've lost Bath for some reason and entries have generally been good there.. Who knows how they work it out..

Hi Sue
No idea about general champ shows - have to admit they're not very popular with the GSD fraternity (more so with the 'alsatian' exhibitors), but I suppose it depends who's judging.
I'll have a chat with our secretary and find out what's going on.
do you mean that champ show are supported more by what you call "alsationists" or more by the "GSD Fraternity"?

I think that the all breed champ shows are more supported by alsatianists, obviously depending on who's judging. Single breed champ shows attract the "GSD fraternity". I suppose it's more a case of the judge, really. The breed clubs run the single breed shows and tend to use SV approved judges more now so this attracts followers of German lines.
