I am soon going on a weeks horse riding holiday in France but I   haven't  ridden much in the last six months and am worried as to whether my bum will stand 4 - 6 hours riding a day for 6 days!!  Wondered about getting some padded cycle shorts to go under my jods? Has anyone tried this?  Ive got a gel pad seat saver but feel a bit more padding may be needed.

Help!!

personally id suggest getting some more riding in before hand.....otherwise its not just your bum but all those leg muscles as well.......I know when I start long days hunting after a summer without getting on a horse, its a real killer.....every year I say ill ride in the summer months to help prevent it....but never do!!!

Ooh good luck! I have horses and I recently went to a camp where we rode for about 3 hours every day and by the last day I was in so much pain. Give yourself a good stretch before and after riding concentrate on the inside of your legs and in your groin - make sure you stretch them out. You can buy sheepskin saddle covers - I wouldnt use it for the first 3 days but you might get a bit of comfort 3 day after??

Make sure you take lots of piccies!!
