Also LKA.At least at Manchester next year they are giving a free entry with ever dog entered,ie pay for the first class then second will be free.

Shame is not BOGOF isn't it - enter one second dog free :)
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 25.08.10 14:36 UTC
No classes for my breed so don't know whether I;ll bother entering.

I am seriously reconsidering entering LKA.

They are charging £5 for a second entry.

Also £5 to get my husband/driver into the show as I can only enter one dog as my 3 show girls are all in Open.

What is the logic for societies to charge so much for second entries.  Once you paid your first breed class it costs them no more (they have to print 5 cards per class regardless).

As for the stakes classes.  What is the logic of charging full CC price for them as first entry, winners are ineligible for CC's or further competition, not eligible for Group or BIS, so really shouldn't even be full non CC price.

So often as second entries are money is wasted due to classing of classes, so increasing their cost as far as I am concerned above £2 is counterproductive.

I have certainly noticed the stakes classes drawing lower and lower entries.

I just hope with my planned trip to mate Inka in USA likely to be in January that I can still make an entry or two to support, as they have Veteran classes in the breed, as well.

£5 for NFC as well!  Thats more like it considering all my second dog is going to do is crawl onto a spare bench and snooze.

Ooh, I'm tempted.....

I would go if i could share a lift!!

Also is this a crufts 2011 qualification for Manc? It is for the YKC but not sure for anything else?
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 26.08.10 11:30 UTC
Yes, should be a qualifying show in the usual classes. Ugh, just checked on journey time, think might have to splash out on Travelodge night before - 3 hours journey for a 9am start!!!

No i don't think it will qualify you for Crufts 2011 as the show is at the end of Jan and usually Crufts closes mid Jan.

LKA is usually the last qualifier (depending on breed classes scheduled etc)

ETA - It will however qualify you for Crufts 2012. :)

thought you could also qualifiy for crufts at the boston premier show at the beg of jan if your dog wins BOB and is one of those listed as a qualifing breed
- By Gemma86 [gb] Date 26.08.10 13:47 UTC
yes you can at boston but as you said you have to go BOB in a breed that is listed to qualify which isn't always easy

> boston premier show at the beg of jan

sorry forgot to say Boston is now a champ show but not every CC breed has CC's though

Duh, you're right Gemma, hadn't read the '2011' bit of the question! *oops*

Boston doesn't qualify for the current year anymore...it did for the first few years, but (if memory serves correctly since they went onto the group system and a third day) now it's the first qualifier for the next year....or it was this year, anyway!
