Does anyone have a recommendation for liquid supplement to help with joint stiffness/arthiritis?  Something like glcosamine, chondroitin and MSM but not in tablet, capsule or powder format.

One of my dogs had a patella op 2 years ago and is now quite stiff in that leg and often reluctant to put it down.  She is fed kibble and isn't good at taking tablets so a powder or capsule is no use.

I have been browsing the hyperdrug catalogue today and wondered if anyone had success or not with any of these products:
 
wendals liquid devils claw - I have read that there is less evidence that this works that glucosamine combinations
arthriaid - I think this is a liquid or gel as it comes in a pump dispenser
glucomax liquid
cortaflex vet strength
canine superflex liquid

Any other solutions will be gratefully recieved!!

I used Cortaflex with my Eurasier, 2 years on and no problems and she is super hyper active :-)
   I researched a lot at the time had great reports from friends who used it in the Equestrian field but knew of few in the dog world so just went for it... It worked very well for us.
   Interestingly (as aside really) I knew of quite a few people who get a skin condition from using G&C but do not get it on Cortaflex.

Good luck, I think it may well be horses for courses as to what which dog assimilates best...
( ROFL!!! I don't think that sentence made any sense! but hopefully you know what I mean!)

Thanks HG.  I liked the look of that as the volume used is very small so even if it tastes nasty it is only a small amount used (1ml for every 5kg of dog).

What sort of skin condition have they experienced?  Most of these products are quite expensive so if there are horror tales about I will skip particular products.

Maxavita sell green lipped mussel stuff in a liquid form which comes in a pump. That is natural glucosamine as the chemical version is high in salt to keep it stable do research which product you buy thoroughly before purchase.

Hi, I know you have said not in capsule but have you tried breaking them open and adding to food. Both of ours are on glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM from zipvit. Will leave if I give it as a capsule but no problems if added as a powder to their meal. You also normaly get free offers if you purchase over a certain amount.

I bought capsules before and did open them up but she is really fussy and wouldn't eat the kibble with the powder on it.  Even mixing it with natural yoghurt didn't help.

I have always used the no Bute (devils claw) liquid with good results.

ive used joint aid for about a year on my nearly 15year old collie,its granules,ive heard good things about it,but i think she s too far gone  for it to be much use to her,so i rely more on trocoxil from the vet.good luck.

Thanks to everyone for their input.  The cortaflex arrived yesterday and this morning I put it on her food and she looked at it disgusted but eventually ate it.  It has quite a strong smell so not too appealing but needs must...

The joint aid granules have never been 'sniffed' at here with mine..
You could always ask for a sample (they normally have them at Crufts on their stalls)
