Just wondering when you do hips, elbows, ect on ur dog do you just go to your normal vet or does it have to be a special vet place?

I am planning on getting a show puppy in the near future (if possible want to try showing) and want to know whats all involved and how you all go about everything...

Thank you :-)

Your vet would be able to take the X- Rays required for the test then would forward to the relevent organisation so in the UK it would be the BVA you would have to find out about where to send in Canada. You dont need to hip/ elbow score to show but it is recomended if you wanted to breed.

Also the WUSV will be making elbow scoring mandatory very soon, so if you wanted to mate your dog to a German dog or show etc then you would need this test doing.

In the UK most of us find vets who specialise in hip and elbow scoring.
