Can anyone help my friend has a 5 yr old lab in good health and fitness she went to bed last night ailing for nothing and has got up this morning and is unable to stand with her back legs she keeps lifting her right leg up to her abdomen but cant bear any weight on it and she is wobbly in general. she is wagging her tail and moving her legs independantly when laid down and they both feel nice and warm with no obvious trauma or abnormalities.  It sounds spinal to me but she hasnt been anywhere to sustain any trauma, can these things happen sponatneously with no associated trauma she is going to the vets but now I am curious.  Any help and ideas greatly appreciated. Oh and she is also in season if that has any bearing.

One can't really diagnose without seeing the dog so the best place is with the vet as soon as possible. Hope all will be well and recovery is speedy.
