hi all i have just taken in a female staff a week ago that is only 30 months old so i am told and has had 4 litters so i am told so dont know how true all this is she has been treated badly was not a happy girl when we got her she was heavy with milk and we was told she had her last litter of pups only nine weeks ago but they was taken from her and sold at only five weeks...... i need to know if it is possible for her to bring herself back into season as last nite while lay on my bed i noticed her bleading as though she is heavy in season i only ask as i also have a male dog who is getting frisky with her and up untill two days ago she wudnt let him near her then bang now she cant get enuff of him but i dont want her having anymore pups as i think four litters is more than enuff for her........ so is she back in season or not?????? thanx in advance hazel

Don't think we can know any more that you do but think the best plan would be to say she is and get her to a vet for a health check asap.

If your boy is entire, I would recommend getting her to the vet so she can be spayed.

If she had pups 9 weeks ago chances are she's still bleeding from that -some bitches do, especially if they've had a big litter. She would normally be in season around 6 months after the last so when pups are 4 months old roughly. But always best to play safe!

That was my thought, I have had some go up to 12 weeks after their litter still showing loss, though the behaviour of the bitch and dog did make me wonder?.

The other worry would be infection, which can make a dog think a bitch is in season, and could be dangerous for the bitch, so the Vet is the answer to ascertain which it is, season, post partum loss, or infection.

My thoughts exactly Brainless, as I said earlier treat as if she is in season for safety and get her to the vets.
