the ball in the stocking :P
You could also stand with your back to the wall and swing the stocking so the ball bounced off either side of you and then lift your leg up (one at a time of course ;) ) and hit the wall - great fun

:P :P

that's the one I was thinking of too!!!
little things hey! and my mum never moaned about the noise either!
going to show my girls this one tonight! now I've remembered it!
I was searching for something totally unrelated to this topic and stumbled across it so making no apologies for reviving it!
It just made me smile and laugh all over again :-)

Thanks. I enjoyed that - doesn't make me feel so aged! The summers then seemed to go on for ever, but I think that was because if the sun was out I thought 'it was summer'.

And if you swung it hard enough and let go it would land on the roof of the next door neighbour... Sorry Mr Clarkson it was usually me ;-)
I used to collect rubbers.
I meant erasers.
Bearing in mind this is the early 80's and I was around 13 years old.
I remember one evening at the bar the night before my mum was going on a day trip. I said "Can you get me another rubber tommorrow mum?" and she replied "yes Sian, but stop calling me mother."
Good times.

Anyone had any nicknames as a kid? I've red hair, so I had the usual: Duracel, Fergie, ginger minge (not too fond of being shouted that across the quad at school) etc.
Never Knock down Ginger!!!! though. Hee.
Just noticed that knock down ginger was a game and not something you shouted at us gingers.

Hit the winda - Crack!
