Did you stop doing it eventually? :( I'm suffering really bad headaches from it, still waiting to see a dentist to fit a guard & they can't say how long it'll take to see them!

Yes I have done it and ended up dislocating my jaw twice because of it. Two operations later and I still do it but the jaw has remained intact now for a few years.

I have had various mouth guards and none of them really helped but I am an extreme case as I have a very bad bite as well.

I am sure it will hep you though as they are used very successfully with many people.

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only person who does, my GP has never seen anybody who does this! I think she has to of been a GP at the same place for at least 30 years!

My boyfriend said it sounds as if my jaw is going to brake it's that intense

I haven't had a problem for many years, apart that is from migraine, which I now think were not conected...my jaw was something else, it was really uncomfortable then.
Sorry cant say much more than it is no longer a problem but it was 30 years ago probably.
My bite is also quite undershot.
:(

I used to wear a teeth thingy to stop me grinding but felt like i nearly swallowed it so stopped wearing it, my jaws click like they are crumbling apart .

I don't know if hypnosis can help, but might be worth a go

I used to wake up with an aching jaw, not bad enough to go to a doctor thank goodness, but must have been clenching my jaw in my sleep. I think it stopped gradually as I got older.

Yes my jaw clicks terrible, it has locked on occassions (to my husbands relief)
My dentist suggested a guard, which i will give it a go.
