I see it is the usuall excuses from him " in care" "Went off the rails when became a Father " he should be banned for life and locked up for years. Nothing but a thug, our society breed them these days, no control and no punishment, and no doubt as others have been proved to do he will go on to assault people as well. The "Let children have a voice" campagne has gone way to far in my mind and is turning out thugs like this who have no regard for the law or morals or anything. Dr Spock has a lot to answer too in my mind
Bring back public flogging!!!!

i just hope to god that any child that ever has misfortune to live in same house as him/have contact with him immediatly is viewed as at extreme risk.
anyone who can do that to a defenceless animal is strongly in danger of doing same to child.

I felt physically sick watching that. I completely agree - tougher sentencing is required. I don't care if he has been in foster care and unexpectedly became a father, there is no excuse. How many other people out there become fathers unexpectedly. It doesn't mean they start abusing animals!!! I hope this poor excuse for a human being gets his just rewards one day!!!

The pet Staffordshire Bull Terrier has not been confiscated from Major and the RSPCA are investigating its whereabouts.

I wish I hadn't posted this now as it is just awful.
Its evil sick people like that who would also go on to breed for cash. How in gods name, with all the ideas currently going on post panorama, would microchipping, licensing or taxing work. Somehow I think not.

Very sad indeed.

I had to watch it to see for myself, his mates even pushed him away from kicking the dog and what looks like a female protecting it at one point. Then he goes back and has another go by punching it off a wall!! words can't describe what I feel about this criminal.

He was crying in the docks? What because he got caught and received a custodial sentence?
- By whipkit [gb] Date 05.08.10 13:26 UTC
4 months in Jail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Disgusting!!!!!!! Words can not sum up what I feel about this kind of SCUM! & my heart sank when the report said it has been unable to trace the dog, Poor, poor little mite x

Its sickening...Hope he gets a damn good beating too and suffers like the poor dog.
Makes me ashamed to be human sometimes..poor poor dog.

some people are just sick, we defernatly need tougher sentances, he actualy only got 2 months for attacking the pup the other 2 months was for breaching a suspended sentance.
"District Judge Carolyn Mellanby handed Major an eight week jail term for attacking the dog and a further eight weeks for breach of a suspended sentence."

its shamefull that this sort of thing carries such a small puniushent.

Whatever beating he gets inside wont be enough in my eyes, evil, sick and rotten to the core, hopefully he will come across some animal lovers inside and get a taste of his own medicene.

I just keeping thinking about where that little dog is now :(  Horrific

If his friends were laughing at the attack, they should be in prison as well. :-(
- By minnie mouses [gb] Date 05.08.10 17:12 UTC
He wants to be hang slowly just not to kill him just to let the b****** know what it feels like.
His friends should have some treatment as the low live.

hang on a minute...yes, the obvious problem in the (in)human being that did this, and he clearly hasn't been punished even remotely for destroying an animal's trust and life...but for the judge to describe it blandly as "shameful" gives a clue as to the scale of concern the rest of society apply to this behaviour. The onlookers in the photo should also be prosecuted under the 'joint endeavours' legislation--all of them are guilty of an abuse that should see them appropriately punished, and that goes way beyond a 4 month custodial sentence.

Can you picture a mix of custodial sentence with 4 months, 9-5, in the stocks being peed on by every dog in the neighbourhood...

And they wonder why people take the law into their own hands.

I don't consider myself a violent person.  But I seriously think that I could be after watching that.

Olive, I am so glad you did post this video, to raise awareness & to name and shame this worthless piece of scum.

It is disgusting that "it" was given such a pathetic sentence & one wonders if he does this to a poor defenceless dog, what is he capable of doing to the mother of his child or his child for that matter.

Please spread this video as I have, I have posted it on my Facebook to raise awareness.

It is not the Staffies that are the problem - they are in fact the victims of shameful yobs like this!!!

He is a disgrace to the human race.

Thank you again for posting this video clip Olive.

Unfortunately society is turning out more and more of these worthless pieces of human garbage as a result of  liberal do-gooders who make excuse after excuse for these mindless morons.

Issuing shorter sentences because prisons are over-crowded is laughable.  Who cares if there are ten to a cell meant for two and no beds to sleep on?  Who cares if they have no fresh air and are locked up for 23 hours out of 24?  Who cares if the food isn't good and their TV/Video/computers don't work?  Who cares if conditions are bad and not fit for humans?  The occupants are hardly 'human' as this one case illustrates.

Anyone of these thugs and their ilk, including those who treat other human beings just as badly have a choice as to whether they end up in jail.  Their defenceless, often totally innocent, randomly chosen victims have no choice in the attacks.  Anyone committing an act like this should automatically forfeit their human rights and be treated like the vile, monsters they are.  There are no excuses for the despicable acts of cruelty displayed by Major.  Crying in court wouldn't cut it with me either.  The only one he was crying for was most probably himself.  Scum doesn't even begin to describe this piece of garbage and I too would love to see him in the stocks day after day being peed on by every passing dog.
