Hi
Was wondering if anybody out there could give me some help or information about my stud dog
We have tried to mate him a few times but to no result !
He always seems very interested - doing all the right things but then thats it ! It's as if he is not sure what to do next and doesn't like being helped !!!!
We have spent hours with him trying and trying but don't know what to do for the best
If anyone out there can help in anyway I would be so grateful
Have quite a few people interested in useing him, so would like to get him going !!!!!!!
If anyone with experience was willing to come along to a mating I would be more than happy to pay.

18 months is OK but the problem may well be the bitch it is advisable not to have both dog and bitch to be maidens. Would suggest an experienced bitch and owner and an experienced stud owner to help you.
Talking about experience I am not experienced at the canine mating game and suggest you wait for someone who is, they may well have other tips for you. How old is the dog now and are you trying to use him on a bitch that he lives with?

Hi
I am just outside Preston in Lancashire. Do you know anyone in that part of the country who may help

Do you show or work your dogs? If you do maybe you could speak to an experienced breeder at a show or working day.

Fit n Fertile is in Preston, they do preg scanning and may know someone who could help.

When you have a boy which you hope to use at stud he has to learn from an early age that he HAS to have help or you could end up with injured dogs. I recently had a litter from my own boy and girl, both maiden, but because they let me help, had a very easy straight forward mating (I know it doesn't always happen that way), my boy was nearly 2 at the time.

Thanks Angela
Will try and contact them
hi have u tried standing facing the bitch head on lifting her two front paws up towards your chest and walking backwards? with the stud dog around? for some reason this always seems to work the dog will just climb on, do this a few times and once hes got the hang of it lower the bitch down he will soon pik it up and get on with it. also are you sure the bitch is ovulating as some dogs never show interest in bitches unless the are ready just a last thought. hope you sort it x
