Could anyone tell me if the Storm Klouds mals that appear on the Dutch breeders No-Yukimagata pedigrees are from the UK based Storm Klouds? Are there close ties between malamutes in the Netherlands and the UK or do the pedigrees differ greatly?

Afterthought...regarding UK based Storm Klouds are they all imported from the USA,wisconsin ? If so same question still applies are they the same mals on the dutch pedigree?

Our mals have Storm Klouds grandparents imported from Nancy Russell in the States. If you want, e-mail me and I'll compare their pedigrees with any names from the dutch mals pedigrees.

All Storm Kloud mals originated in the US. Russels Yvetti Rose is the foundation bitch to Nancy Russels Storm Kloud Kennels, Yvetti Rose was originally mated to Glaciers Storm Kloud to start Nancy's lines. Hope this helps a bit :)

As far as I am aware, the only Storm Kloud kennels I know of are Nancy Russell's in the States. Her original affix was Timberlane, but she changed to Storm Kloud after her superb Int. Ch. Glacier's Storm Kloud (a little bit of useless information there).
To find out if there are close ties between the Netherlands and the UK kennels you would have to look at pedigrees of the mals you are interested in and compare.

Looking at the pedigrees and at the actual dogs,I definitely think they have all originated from Storm Klouds USA as they all have the Storm Klouds look.I just wanted confirmation.:)

there are several seacourt mals over in scandanavia, have a look at the web page listed in my profile, Sissu is for, there and had several mals, she'll be able to tell you more about any mals on the continent.

mmm, if you have a look at the pics of Sisu's mals a tthe site, then have a look at

http://personal.inet.fi/koti/hauenkuonon

thats hers mals site.

"I live in southern Finalnd and have owned malamutes since 1991. I have bred 8 litters under kennel name Hauenkuonon. At the moment I own 5 malamutes + co-own one male and placed 2 bitches.
Behind all my breedings is one Seacourt bitch; Seacourt Queen Of Spades" from her bio on the seacourt site.

myself looking at the pics, i think the legs are a little short... but, then, me no expert at all.

What are your views on the UK mals? Honestly :)
Julie
- By Jaytungsvik [gb] Date 21.12.02 20:24 UTC
mmmm, if i say outloud, then there could be repurcussions... but what the hell..

I think some on them are too small, so small that you cant tell them from sibes, and thats no offence meant to sibes. Its just that sibes pull small loads quickly, mals are supposed to pull heavy loads.

could mention fur, a mals fur is supposed to be a certain way to protect it from the cold/snow/wet....

send me an email, and i'll discuss it with you, via email.

Have to agree with you on the size thing Jay. It looks particularly bad in bitches because they tend to be smaller and slighter than males anyway. Also while I am on my soapbox, there are a few very long coats creeping in. I have to admit they look very nice, especially if they are fluffed up but they are so wrong on mals.
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 23.12.02 16:34 UTC
I think the woolies look all wrong :( On my Malamute calendar for next year (US one I think) there are 2 Mals that look almost exactly like Lassie Dogs !! Long thin nose and very long coats ...just doesn't look right!

Jay,
I've looked at the website. My mal Taiko looks most like Isla from the photo's.
