I think as well there is a huge culture of ' EASY COME, EASYGO'  :(

Friend's dog was ill and needed emergency vet, daughter of friend says "never mind, I'll get you another"     Too many people think like this

I was NOT advocating the DDA - far from it, it hasn't worked and never could IMO  as it targetted the wrong thing - the dog, not the OWNER!

In some boroughs of London the councils are having to replace the seats on the kids swings because they are being used to train their 'bandogs'... pit/staff types.

Police and Council are unable to do anything to stop them...why are posters still saying regulate this/ ban that /license the next thing..

They cant enforce any of these suggestions.

This is what I mean!   there surely is a law against damaging public property, why isn't it being enforced?  these people should be made to pay, properly!

The problem is we now have a society where yobs and scumbags are doing exactly as they please and yet responsible caring people are calling to legislate against themselves to try and stop it.  It's total madness!

But it's far easier to make Law Abiding people pay than it is to make the scumbags take responsibility - after all they fight back, and THEY have rights

Hi, As I've said before I recently attended a health seminar put on by the Staffordshire Bull Terrier club at the KC building. One of the speakers was the vet David Grant from Animal Hospital.

He gave a talk on "Mans Inhumanities" and was talking about the cruelty he sees everyday in his job as a RSPCA vet. The pictures he showed were horrific. One of the things he did say was that in his opinion the "Staffie" is now going out of vogue with these thugs and that other breeds such as Akitas were the new status breeds. He said that its neglect and abandoment  that is the worst problem with Staffies today.

I think this programme summed it up!!

Brainless, I agree and before long we will see the American imported Alapaha Blue Blooded Bulldog added to the list, which is already being imported and bred here.  I fear that this breed will be the next that will be exploited, although the cost maybe prohibitive to some at the moment but when crossed with other bull breeds this will surely change.  Fo me it looks in some pictures as a very powerful dog and quite (in my opinion) fearsome or could be made to look fearsome in the ownership of some irresponsible person who would like to this this breed become the new staffie 'for hard guy image'. I cannot honestly see the point of importing such dogs other than to make money (£2,000 per pup one litter is advertised for in my local paper).
