Hi guys quick question...

For future reference, allbreed shows NFC is 6 months and over, but some breed and single group shows will allow them from 4 months -again it will say in the schedule. :)

"Dont want to bring her with me and leave her in car."
IT is against the rules at most Ch shows - especially summer ones, to leave dogs in cars - it always happens, but thankfully shows are getting more and more insistent to make sure it is not done, and at all shows this summer there have been calls put out on the PA systems giving vehicle numbers and giving the car owners a certain amount of time before the car will be broken into and the dogs rescued.  In fact, most of us wish they would be much more pro active about this, and simply break in as soon as it looks like a dog is in distress.  As a point about your own dogs, it is very unwise to leave a pug in a car unattened at any time as a) cars can heat up very quicly indeed, and even if you leave them in the shade the sun moves round and the car turns into an oven  b) Pugs can be more prone to the heat and adverse effects, so even greater care needs to be taken..  c) Pugs are, unfortunately very "stealable" and to leave one almost on display and unguarded could be asking for trouble.  I am speaking from personal experience here, as 2 of my pugs were stolen some years ago - not from a car, from my home - it would be so much easier from a car.

Your right.
I never ever leave them in the car alone. I dont even have dog stickers on my car ether just incase people want to steal them! My two pugs are worth more than my car!!
When i was at border union i seen so many dogs in the cars, it made me so mad! Its just uncalled for. People should know better..... Expecially if there animal lovers....

Another question!! Ive read the whole schedule and cant find anything on it about not for competition age wise... The Perthshire canine club open show is this also 6 months? I tried to call the sec but no answer!

Sorry i am a head nipper!

At general shows Open or Championship no dog can be entered under 6 months of age this applies whether the dog is entered for competition or not for competition, it is not usually stated separately as it applies to all entered dogs.

I know, it is frustrating but I think the age restriction is to protect the puppies, although most people would remember to feed etc there will always be those who would take the pup in and then forget it.

Some societies offer nfc for 4 months and over, so you can give them some experience of the show atmosphere.

You may well be correct but as I understand it only breed shows and group shows can accept puppies under 6 months and over 4 for NFC
