hi, i read a while ago about treating and caring for leather leads, i made a big mistake of soaking a leather slip lead overnight in neatsfoot oil now i have learned my lesson but wondered if there is a way to save it ? its really slippy to hold, does any one have any suggestions ? (i know there was a person on here who knew his leather but cant remember the name)

Try using saddle soap, sponge onto leather lightly rinse and leave to dry,. complete a few times and perhaps this will resussitate it...

If its a walking lead and nor your best show lead you could always try putting a couple of knots in it.
I do this and the knots stop the leads from slipping through hands an old trick I learned in boarding kennels.

hiya its my show lead :( which makes it worse as holding a flattie on a thin lead is bad enough but on a slippy thin lead eeek. good tip though with the knots, used to do this with lead ropes with the horses.
