Has anybody had them selves or had children with clicky hips?

I had it as a child and also had the odd days growing up when my hip would hurt but nothing major through my teenage years & onwards.
All of a sudden last night my hip was hurting like mad and I was wondering could it be that? (I'm now 24)
I'm going to see if it ease's of today but if not will be visiting my GP but just was wondering if anybody else on here has experience clicky hip & the possibilities of it returning later on in life?

Is this the human version of HD?

I had this as a baby and I do often get pain in my hips now (I am 22) although I have never been to the doctors about it so don't know if it is related.

In a way yes it is, new born babies can have clicky hips but most then they grow out of it or have treatment for it however i believe it can also develop into HD in adults

Quite often if its your hip then you may feel the pain in your groin area, but if you have a persistent pain you have to get the doctor to check it out.......

I have a trapped nerve in my lower back.  That's caused a clicky and painful hip.  Funny enough i had bad hip problems when I was a baby.  Don't know if there's any connection.

Myself and my daughter both. Daughter can not do certain sports, she had to give up kick boxing for example. For me, after  double nappies , brace etc, I had no problems until my pregnancies, in fact with my second it was the hip being uncomfortable that told me I was pregnant, (was still breast feeding so irregular periods). Now as I am approaching menopause I am having problems again.. swimming helps a lot..

Yes I had clicky hips still do, almost loose as a child/teenager. No pain as such, just felt I had to ease it back into place every so often. Twice your age & add a bit, and I now find I get very stiff after sitting for too long in the evenings. When it gets bad take the dogs Glucosmine & chondroitin!

Just out of curiosity how long after taking Glucosmine & chondroitin does one actually feel the effects?
I am taking it for my bad knees and the one I am on also has cod liver oil in it.

Not felt much different and was curious....(sorry for semi non related question ) :-)

Don't  know about Glucosamine, but I took cod liver oil for years with my painful hands.  Then, one visit to the doctor, and silly enough to mention it, I was phoo phooed.  The doctor's attitude was "well if you believe it works!"

So I gave it up.  :-(

My hands became more and more painful, and I eventually went back to the oil.  It took me several months to get back to where I was with less pain.  So I guess whatever supplements we take, it does take a while to build up the benefits.

I would think a couple of weeks, I don't take one with cod live oil. My GP originaly suggested it for my knees, unfortunately I'm one of those silly people who only remembers to take it when the problem returns. On a previous post for clucosmine & chondroitin (for dogs) someone said that it is only properly effective if taken with vitamin C, don't know if this is the same for humans too.
