just wanted to run this past you all,to see if anyone can make any sense of it,because we certainly cant!i live next door but one to my daughter in a row of terraces.the lady between us is a bit inconsiderate, loud parties till late, young kids allowed to stay up till 2am(ive had to move to another bedroom because i was sick of never being allowed to sleep, they also have a labrador that barks and howls all the time theyre out-often till late, several times till2am,3 times all night long.Ive never complained although my daughter has,so relationships are a bit strained(just to put you in the picture!)

3nights ago.she hammered on my daughters door, yelled"you effing bitch!"and went back in-this was 10pm.my daughter and her partner asked her what she was supposed to have done, and was told"youl find out when the police come"!I rang the police, told them whatd happened, they checked and they had rung the police-theyd found their cat dead and blamed my daughter!who has cats of her o

w n and wouldnt hurt a fly, they also said they wouldnt be coming out.both of us have asked them separately, why they thought this,he said its along story and he wanted to forget it,she said shed been advised not to speak to us!i wouldve thought an apology,or at least an explanation wouldve been nice!what a horrible thing to accuse anyone of!

Having lived beside unsociable neighbours who called the SSPCA out to me I can sympathise with you and your daughter.  The Inspector was so happy with my animals, even the fact that my guinea pigs were indoors as we had a spate of killing in the area impressed him. The only thing you can do is to keep a record of all incidents just in case it goes any further in the future. Trying to ignore people like this doesn't work, I found. It makes them do more horrid things. My local council moved me after I found human faeces pushed through my letterbox  :-(

Thats terrible. I know EXACTLY what you and your daughter are going through. Keep ringing the police if she bothers you, do not ignore that behaviour. Why should they ruin your daily routines? Inconsiderate people get away with it for too long. Report them to noise abatement, keep reporting them. The monitoring equipment will then be placed into your house. I really hope they can do something. But be persistent. Good luck. No one deserves neighbours like that

Yes,I find myself thinking I must be the only one around here that sleeps! We joke that shes training the kids to be vampires as theyre up really late, then sleep in!two weeks after she moved in,i bought my first earplugs,as she was in the habit of talking to her friends on the doorstep(practically under my window)anything up to 2am,and at the time i had to be up for work at 3 30 am,but unfortunatly, the dog still gets through!however, thats been quieter lately, which is good!

I know that one.  We had neighbour like that it turned into a nightmare tot he point where the police got involved.  The kids would throw putty over laden with stones ext for my girl to chew and throw things at the window.

It did eventually stop after i blasted the mum one day, this time she actually listened, mind you I would have listened with the sound of my voice that night lol.  i told her exactly what was happening when she left them unattended and what they were doing to my dog.  now it turned out this one was a dog lover, her face looked so shocked.  I was lucky and it did stop.  After that we would have a chat if we saw each other.  i hope you get a similar outcome.  Fingers crossed for you.

I think sometimes things/people have to explode to bring the idiots down to earth and take off their rosey glasses.

My neighbour was under the impression that I was bothered she had been to prison, no such issue, but other neighbours sucked up around her to say they liked her, you could tell from their body language they were worried.  Because i didn't join in with just silly stuff I had a problem, coupled with the 'god awfull kids' it was a nightmare.

Don't let it slideAre they in rented accommodation?  That could be a route to follow if its doesn't ease off.  i think you  can even petition if in their own property to have them evicted.  Keep calling the police and enviromental health to make your case.

funny you should ask that, sunshine, because their landlord asked me for my version of events,as hed only heard one side, yesterday, well,he got both barrels,as you can imagine!but-get this-theyre thinking of moving out, because since the cat incident, theyre scared what else might happen!(apparently she found the poor thing 5mins walk away ,on a footpath,he told me,and she thinks my daughter poisoned it!)so,shes dragged her "facts"out of the air,but obviously believes it enough to be paranoid, and want to leave!if it wasnt so sick,id almost feel sorry!it just doesnt make any kind of sense!mind you,i hope they do move,so i could throw my earplugs!
- By MsTemeraire Date 01.08.10 20:12 UTC
That's ridiculous. Did they have an autopsy done on the cat? Even if they did and it was poisoned, there's nothing to implicate you, is there? (be honest now! lol... sometimes throwaway remarks can be twisted by people). Arghhhhh I hate neighbours!!!

I reckon they just want to move so have cooked up a story to tell. Lets hope they get their way and you get a proper neighbour

I thought this after said she wants to moves.  Some people!!.  Makes you wonder if they poisoned their own kitty (poor thing).  Cat could have died for any manner of reasons.  Sounds like she need psychiatric help.  fingers crossed she moves.

poor creature likely hit by car and tried to get home.  don't always get much in way of external signs of injury.

thanks everybody!yes i felt sorry for the dog too, shut out the back for hours, obviously mis
erable, its fairly well cared for, though, apart from that.the cat, yes, could have been anything, she wouldnt be the first to try and cure a cat with an aspirin, for example,i bet,or yes,a car.im pretty sure nothing has been said that she could pounce on as"proof"as we rarely speak!i did wonder, myself as to her sanity,as its just beyond belief.i think its doubtful they had an autopsy, but i dont know. Its a lot of trouble and upset to cause just to give a reason for moving!I heard that they are moving,at the end of the month,i sincerely hope so.thanks for your replies, everyone!

So pleased they are moving.  fingers crossed nothing gets in the way of it.

Wishing you nice new neighbours or an empty house for years to come.  Give you some peace.

I'm blessed with my neighbours but dreading what might move in next door, the neighbour is now in a home and dreading who might rent/buy it.  We're used to not hearing anything lol.  And the added bonus was she was stone deaf.  The other side of us are fantastic.
